[Nut-upsuser] APC Smart 700 UK and frequency setting at cold start
2009/5/6 Andy Whitfield> Hi >Hi Andy,> I got your email address from http://www.networkupstools.org > > I've been looking at the APC Smart protocols at > http://www.networkupstools.org/protocols/apcsmart.html > And I've experimented with them via HyperTerminal. > > I'm using an APC Smart 700 UK model. > When I cold start it, it defaults to 60Hz. > Is there any way to program it, so it cold starts at 50Hz? >I don't know much of anything else than Eaton (Powerware and especially MGE). so I'm cc'ing the NUT user list since some people might have the answer. I found that strange: can't the frequency be set once for all? or through some jumpers? something that might help people to give you an answer is the driver you use (ie the port: serial or USB). you may also contact your reseller about that. or return it and get an Eaton unit. at least, you won't be bothered with such problems, and you'll be supporting NUT ;-) cheers, Arnaud -- Linux / Unix Expert R&D - Eaton - http://www.eaton.com/mgeops Network UPS Tools (NUT) Project Leader - http://www.networkupstools.org/ Debian Developer - http://www.debian.org Free Software Developer - http://arnaud.quette.free.fr/ -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
