[Nut-upsuser] Tripplite OMNIVIS1500XL Connection Refused
I'm having problems creating a UPS connection to my Tripp Lite UPS
System: Ubuntu 8.04.2 Nut 2.4.1 freshly compiled from source.
When I do upsdrvctl start everything appears to work and I get
:Detected a UPS: TRIPP LITE/TRIPP LITE UPS
Using OMNIVS 2001 protocol (2001)
Unit ID not retrieved (not available on all models)
Attached to Tripp Lite UPS
But when I try to start upsd and upsmon I get
May 6 15:34:03 <my host> upsd[8834]: listening on 127.0.0.1 port 3493
May 6 15:34:03 <my host> upsd[8834]: Can't connect to UPS [ups]
(tripplite_usb-ups): Connection refused
May 6 15:34:03 <my host> upsd[8835]: Startup successful
May 6 15:34:03 <my host> upsmon[8837]: Startup successful
May 6 15:34:03 <my host> upsd[8835]: User nut at 127.0.0.1 logged into
UPS
[ups]
May 6 15:34:03 <my host> upsmon[8838]: Poll UPS [ups at localhost]
failed -
Driver not connected
May 6 15:34:03 <my host> upsmon[8838]: Communications with UPS
ups at localhost lost
The permissions on the usb devices seem OK
/dev/bus/usb/001
crw-rw-r-- 1 root root 189, 0 2009-05-06 14:48 001
crw-rw-r-- 1 root nut 189, 2 2009-05-06 15:33 003
usp.conf is very simple
[ups]
driver = tripplite_usb
port = auto
desc = "Tripplite OMNIVS1500XL"
and upsd.con contains only
LISTEN 127.0.0.1 3493
MAXCONN 128
Suggestions?

[Nut-upsuser] Tripplite OMNIVIS1500XL Connection Refused
I noticed this subject line, and I wanted to confirm what model UPS you have. I am not familiar with one called "OMNIVIS1500XL". Is it possible you have an OmniSV 1500XL? If so, perhaps you could help me to answer a couple of questions I have. Would you mind posting the results of your uspc command? Below are my results. As you can see, this UPS is reporting very low voltages, both AC and DC for the UPS, yet I know for a fact the voltages are good. Otherwise, everything else seems to be functioning.
