I have installed iTunes in Wine! Yay! However, I have a slight problem. In order for iTunes to be any use to me, I need to access my music library, which is stored on my data partition. Usually, one holds the shift key while opening iTunes, and it gives the option to choose library or create a new one. However, in my Wine install of iTunes, this doesn't work, it just opens it to the default library anyway. (I would move my library, but I would like to be able to still access it from my Windows install, just in case. Plus I like to keep my data separate.) Are there any workarounds to this, or should I file a bug report? Wine 1.2.2 iTunes 10.1 Need any other info?

Once you correct your .wine directory using the instructions pointed to by dimensio, type in: winecfg in a terminal session. This should start the Wine Configuration program. Click on Drives -> Add Add a drive that points to where the library files are located. Click on Apply then the OK button. Try to run iTunes again and see if the program picks up your tunes library. The problem is, iTunes doesn't let me select my library. I actually hadn't done what you had suggested, and I just did, but my main problem is still that the choose library dialog won't even come up, iTunes just starts without letting me choose which library I want it to use, even when I hold shift.
Yay! A symlink works! Thank you! One less reason to use Windows! [Wink] P.S. I had considered using rsync, but I don't exactly have a lot of extra hard drive space..
This shouldn't be a problem, my data is actually stored on a separate FAT32 partition. In fact, I have actually been emulating XP in VirtualBox to use iTunes (I know, it's overkill), and I haven't had this problem. I think the reason it's complaining now is because of the symlink..

I changed the drive letter in Wine to match my drive letter in Windows. iTunes no longer searches for >the files every single time. Now the only thing I need is to be able to sync my iPod..Ok, GI (tongue in cheek humor and you are using a military like moniker), you should search the forums for what the status of iPod support is. You can also try the Applications Database under iTunes. James McKenzie
