Hello, I've been trying to get iTunes working with wine-20041201 without much luck. I am trying this on a Fedora Core 2 machine on AMD64. The wine install seems to have gone ok, i can start notepad.exe etc without a problem. The only application that i will be using on wine will be iTunes(i use gtkpod, but it is isnt without its own quirks) and i cant seem to get it to work. I start an install with wine C:\\\windows\\iTunesSetup.exe the install starts up fine but stalls with err:msi:MsiGetSummaryInformationW IStorage -> IPropertySetStorage failed err:msi:MsiGetSummaryInformationW IStorage -> IPropertySetStorage failed 1608: Unable to create InstallDrive instance Return code: -2147024894 I copied stdole32.tlb from a windows 2000 machine to the "windows/system/" folder as suggested by some other folks, w/o any luck. Any suggestions ? Is anyone looking into this ? Rith
Hi Rith, I'm not sure iTunes is working at all. CrossOver Office (which is pretty much the commercial version of Wine) is said to be somewhat supporting it. At this time, USB & Firewire isn't supported within Wine; so, even if the app did work, there is no way to plug in your iPod (which is probably the error that you are getting.) In any case, this is the wine-users list. If you need to ask if anybody is looking into this, you'd probably need to look into the wine-devel list. :) Hiji --- Rith Bala <rith.bala@gmail.com> wrote:> Hello, > > I've been trying to get iTunes working with > wine-20041201 without much > luck. Is anyone looking into this ? > RithOne thing to note is that there are problems with iTunes 4.7 (the current version) even on Windows. It hangs, it misdetects iPods and generally misbehaves. So if this report is with 4.7 it might be not Wine's fault. If it is with 4.6 then perhaps it needs thinking about. David
