No, it's starting as a SystemV script in the RC3 directory. -----Original Message----- From: Joel Hammer [mailto:Joel@HammersHome.com] Sent: Wednesday, September 11, 2002 2:22 PM To: Paul Harlow; samba@lists.samba.org Subject: Re: [Samba] Too many processes kills server Are you using inetd to start samba? Yes I can. It's been running without much of any problem this morning. I will try that when it fails again. Not sure what else to do though. I was going to try another version via the RPM that comes with RHL 7.3 but it's got some other dependencies such as "CUPS" that needs to be installed and I'm not sure what, if anything, CUPS will do on this 7.2 system. I have seen the same problem. Used strace to attach to the daemon. FOund that the daemons were hangin on an open call to a named pipe. What tipped you off to that? I took a quick look at STRACE and it looks like it will definitely be helpful but what should I be looking for? -----Original Message----- From: Kaj Mikkelsen [mailto:kmi@vitesse.com] Sent: Thursday, September 12, 2002 10:52 AM To: Paul Harlow; Samba List Subject: RE: [Samba] Too many processes kills server I have seen the same problem. Should be fixed for 2.2.6. Thanks, Jeremy.
Where is 2.2.6 at? All I see is 2.2.5 out there. And how can I fix this now rather than waiting for a distro? -----Original Message----- From: jra@dp.samba.org [mailto:jra@dp.samba.org] Sent: Thursday, September 12, 2002 3:09 PM To: Paul Harlow Cc: 'Samba List' Subject: Re: [Samba] Too many processes kills server On Thu, Sep 12, 2002 at 03:05:09PM -0600, Paul Harlow wrote:> What tipped you off to that? You can CVS checkout the SAMBA_2_2 branch if you want access to this code now. Jeremy.
