Hi,
I have ext3 running on my home and usr partition and selected ext3 in my
fstab for them. But I'd also like to swtich my /-partition to ext3. But
as I might have to boot a non-ext3 kernel, too, I have to use auto for
the filesystem in my fstab.
However auto mounts all ext3 filesystems as ext2.
To be a bit more specific:
My versions:
kernel 2.4.9, ext3-2.4-0.9.6-249, e2fsprogs-1.23-1, mount-2.10r-5 on
RH7.1
dumpe2fs /dev/hda8:
dumpe2fs 1.23, 15-Aug-2001 for EXT2 FS 0.5b, 95/08/09
Filesystem features: has_journal filetype needs_recovery
sparse_super
my fstab (where I'd like to change from ext3 to auto):
/dev/hda8 /home ext3 defaults 1
2
/etc/filesystems:
ext3
ext2
nodev proc
nodev devpts
iso9660
vfat
hfs
/proc/filesystems:
nodev proc
nodev sockfs
nodev tmpfs
nodev pipefs
ext3
ext2
nodev devpts
vfat
nodev coda
Any help or suggestions would be welcome.
Ciao
Florian
