Hi, Does anyone have experience with Asterisk and the aastra 9112i or 9133i phones? I am looking at purchasing some, and was curious how quality, and stability was with them.
I have one 9133i in a test environment and prefer it to the Polycom 301. I find the 9133i very similar to the Norstar sets we will be replacing. This is especially true in the way it presents lines. I have a hard time explaining it, but in the Aastra/Norstar world when you need another line, it just sort of gives one to you. No need for additional extensions. The Polycom had the same functionality, but did not offer a button to use it. Likewise the Polycom's line buttons are distinct lines, not virtual representations of the same line. As far as quality and stability, I find the two models to be roughly the same. Once properly configured, neither model produces anything I can complain about. I may however have more to report after we do our roll-out. I really like the big flashing red light when on hold, and the solid red light if there is a problem. I've got these and GS101 and Snom 200. -- Dave Cotton <dcotton@linuxautrement.com>
I have a 9133i that I have been testing with for a few months. As far as hardware, it's a solid business phone all around. Very good speakerphone and handset. The backlit display is quite functional. The number pad buttons are just ok but nothing special. The firmware is still evolving a bit. Most planned features are now implemented and v1.3 has solved a lot of the issues people have been having. It supposedly has a few lingering issues according to some but there are NO phones out there regardless of price that don't have some issues. It does everything I need for standard business use and works well with Asterisk v1.2 for me. Your mileage may vary.> -----Original Message----- > From: Matt [mailto:mhoppes@gmail.com] > Sent: Friday, March 17, 2006 9:12 AM > To: Asterisk Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial Discussion > Subject: [Asterisk-Users] Aastra Questions > > Hi, > Does anyone have experience with Asterisk and the aastra > 9112i or 9133i phones? We've probably got another 20-20 in other installs since then as well. Later firmware has some useful additional functionality. The 9112i is our preferred entry level phone. Cheers Pete
