Sipura 841 issues
...Just 2 issues I have with SPA841.
1. I autodial extension 600 then inside an AGI wait for more digits.
The digits are transmitted correctly to * but they do not show up on the
SPA841 display, only the 600. How do I set the 841 is show the digits
after the 600#
2. Is the SPA841 pixel display backlit?

7 points of comparison Polycom 430/501 and Aastra 480i. Which one to choose ?
...phones
is not a factor in the decision. The quality of the phones is the
factor.
Some of the features that I am evaluating on are: (arranged in order
of priority)
1. Sound quality
2. complete product line with conference phone and receptionist phone
(not on Aastra)
3. cordless (not on 501/430)
4. backlit LCD (not on 501/430)
5. Inbuilt POE (not on 501)
6. speaker phone
7. 2 network ports.
Which one will you choose ?

Off Topic: Dead GS BudgeTone-100
...e got a Budge Tone-100 (101 - without the extra 10base ethernet
connetion?) here. I changed the configuration through its web based
interface and I clicked the reboot link. But then something went wrong
and ever since then it doesn't boot up correctly. It starts up and the
LCD stays blue backlit and the keypad flashes
in groups of five (flash, flash, flash, flash, flash, pause, flash,
flash, flash, flash, flash, pause..... and so on... for ever). I think
this is a problem with a firmware update failure? I never changed the
factory setting to do with tftp and the phone was on a NATed n...

Current viewpoints on the Sayson/Aastra 480i
I have read the user reports on the Aastra 480i SIP phones, but the last report is from October, and the advice was to stay away from these units. I was looking at the cisco 79XX series or the SPA-941's, but they don't have backlit displays. I also like POE support so I don't have to run multiple wires to the phones and makes for a neater look. I dislike the looks of the SNOM series, so that's out.
Have the bugs been worked out with the latest firmware, or are these still phones to avoid.
thanks,
Mike

Does anyone have an actual delivery date on the new Polycom HD IP650's?
I'm getting sick of not having a backlit screen and thinking of
upgrading.
Cheers,

Polycom 330 beep on new VM
Hi,
I have a Polycom 330 that emits a beep every 30s or so when there is a
message waiting. Is there a way to disable that? It is pretty annoying.

is true for all extensions on the system, up to 8.
These work with both FSK and Stutter tone. I did not turn on the tone MWI

Wiki Voip Phone reviews
...ey would stick but
don't, speaker phone could be better.
Comments: Like the SPA-941, once you start using the phone the buttons
and menus are very intuitive. You won't have to read the screen, you
just press a few buttons in a row and it does what you want.
Grandstream GXP-2000:
Pros: Backlit screen, firmware getting better, big buttons.
Cons: Very long list, see gxp-2000 page. Poorly tested and buggy firmware.
Comments: I have a client that needed phones to connect to vicidial and
got these. I don't recommend them for much else but the backlit screen
on a cheap phone. Beware....

IP Phone recommendation
Hi all,
I have to install 25 IP Phone in some building. I want just basic IP Phones
like:
Cisco-Linksys SPA922 u$s 146
Grandstream GXP-2000 u$s 105
Snom 300 u$s 119
The most valuables parameters for me are (in importance order from high to
low):
- Stability (device don't hang in any way)
- Voice quality using G729
- Provisioning
So what device do

Anyone use the Linksys phones?
Is anyone out there using any of the newer linksys phones since Cisco
took over? I am more specifically looking at the spa-941 & 942's. Just
curious about call quality, programability, and functionality with asterisk.
I have read through the literature, but would like some real world feedback.
Thanks

What business IP phone to use
I have been struggling with this issue for about a year now. There were
just too many IP phones to choose from at all sorts of price points and not
enough information about any of them. Now I am looking at the situation
again and if anything it has gotten worse. There are even more phones and
all sorts of opinions. For every person that says phone x is great there is
someone else complaining

GXP-2000
I'm using a few GXP-2000 with firmware 1.0.2.13 and everything seems
to be working fine. However, there are a couple of issues I'd like to
know if are possible:
1) Even though the phone has 4 line appearances, if I am speaking on
a line, the phone can no longer receive phone calls. I can manually
select another line and make calls, but when Asterisk tries to send a
call to it, I

Snom phones?
Hi, everyone:
I'm in the processing of deciding what IP phones we should use with our
Asterisk server, and I wanted to get feedback from the user community on
the quality, reliability and ease of operation of Snom phones.
What do you have to say about these phones? Are there other phones you'd
suggest along with or instead of Snom?
Thanks,
-Stephen-

[Bug 14856] New: Black screen w/ RandR12 enabled

Created an attachment (id=14879)

Xorg log, randr disabled, only laptop digital panel
When enabling RandR12 on my laptop the screen is black, though it is backlit.
I can switch to VT and back to Xserver without any problem.
If I attach a crt monitor, both displays don't work. The analog monitor
complaints about out of range frequency, while the lvds is white (instead of
black).
Again, I have no problem in switching to VT.
My laptop has an nForce chipse...
