Hi,
I have installed Samba 2.2.7 and winbind on RedHat 9 and it seems to be
working. However because of the size of our Windows 2000 forest winbind
queries the local WINS server and then a vast number of domain controllers
(so the log tells me) for user credentials. This causes the server to hang
for 30+ seconds. Setting a specific "password server" or "allow
trusted
domains = No" has had no effect. I have seen on the web that in an older
version it is possible to set a environment variable $WINBIND_DOMAIN
<MY_DOMAIN>, however I don't know where or how I go about dong this.
So my
question is: How do I prevent samba with winbind from using trusted domains
and limit authentication to only my domain.
