wine users - Oct 2008 - registry

I need some help. I'm trying to work with the registry by following this
guide:

http://wiki.winehq.org/UsefulRegistryKeys

I am missing quite a few keys. I no it says you can add them and set the values
but I havent a clue as to whether or not im doing it correctly.

The whole reason im doing this is so i can get winamp to play music. I keep
getting "Device not found. Please select another device in configuration.
Error code: 88780078"

So I browsed around the forums and tried changing the drives in wincfg. But
every time time I select a different drive and test it. The test fails. (on all
of them) SO, then I search that problem on the forums here and that's when I
stumbled upon that guide above.

So i'm not sure what to do next, or how to do it or if im even on the right
track here.

if anyones got any suggestions or has any ideas id appreciate them greatly.

Is the problem limited to winamp, or does sound not work in any Wine app? Does
sound work in native Linux apps? What sound driver are you using?

sorry im a tool...

i got it working by system> preferences > sound

changed sound playback.
