Hi Guys, I've done some line recordings, and to save space compressed straight to vorbis, and as such have no access to the original. Upon listening, I found the volume to be quite quiet and I am wondering if there exists a native vorbis normaliser, so I don't have to decompress to wave, normalise and recompress. Does anybody know of such a beast? I'm aware of vorbisgain, but I'd like to change the compressed data, not apply a gain afterwards. Does anybody know of such a beast? There's "normalize" at http://www.cs.columbia.edu/~cvaill/normalize/ The latest version is 0.7.6; version 0.8 is supposed to be able to operate on Vorbis files natively. You might email Chris and see how far off version 0.8 is. -- Graham Mitchell - computer science teacher, Leander High School "Eschew obfuscation." --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'vorbis-request@xiph.org' containing only the word 'unsubscribe' in the body. But then you'll get a teeny bit of generational loss. But not much. Another way to do it would be to turn up the amplification on the line you're recording from/into. Just make sure you got decent recording equipment or you'll get that really bad earth buzz sound. <p>--- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'vorbis-request@xiph.org' containing only the word 'unsubscribe' in the body.
