OT: Disable Polycom 650 Forward Softkey
I've got a problem that keeps popping up with my reception phone. It is a IP 650 and the receptionist - on three occassions - has accidentally hit the "Forward" softkey just before she enters the "Page All" keystrokes and then all future calls get routed as an overhead page. I will admit, the first time it happened, I was totally stumped. Why the heck did I have

Aastra phones and park/pickup feature
We are installing Aastra phones (480's and 57i's) into a fairly simple asterisk setup. Although call park & pickup work fine using xfer to 700 (to park), dial 701 (to pickup), we are unable to make the park/pickup softkey feature work on the aastra's. Although we've programmed the softkeys per the manuals, they seem to have no effect (just dead). For example, our 57i is

Polycom changing policy - allowing firmware downloads?
I don't know if Polycom decided to change their policy or not, but I just went to their website and when you click on the downlooad link, it will now present you with an option to join their extranet. I did that and I got the following message immediately: <snip> Access to certain Resource Center sections and content are subject to approval. Eligible members, will receive further

Attended transfers with original CID information - Polycom
Hi, we use Polycom SP IP 501 phones. We use the standard key/softkey configuration to do attended transfers. The only thing we miss is the CID info of the original caller after the call is transfered. This behaviour is different from the blind/direct transfer. With blind transfer method the original CID info is displayed. We already opened a call (in 2006) with Polycom JIRA. This is what they

What is the one thing that polycom can do...
On the landing page of the Polycom web site there's a "We're listening" nanosurvey, asking what is the one thing Polycom can do to improve their products. The link points here: http://polycom.zuberance.com/survey.htm I wrote a sentence about tweaking the user interface on the IP Soundpoint series phones, so that one can escape any level of any menu with repeated pressing of the

Polycom 600 presence indication on *LED*?
I've somehow managed to battle may way through hinting issues with type=peer type=friend and various other oddities and now have presence working correctly on my Polycom 600 and Grandstream GXP-2000 phones. However, on the Polycom I have to press the Buddies softkey in order to see if an extension with a hints priority is in use or not. I've spent all day going through google and my

Dialing from "Placed Calls" on Polycom IP501 doesn't always work
Greetings, Has anyone noticed that attempting to place a call from the "Placed Calls" list on a Polycom IP501 by pressing the 'Dial' softkey sometimes simply returns the phone to the idle screen? It is not related to the number being dialed, as we have observed two entries for the same number, one of which worked and the other didn't. We've experimented with calls

Polycom 501 dialing problem
When I want to pick up a ringing line, I dial *8 and hit New Call softkey on my Poly 501. For some reason, if I pick up the hand set and dial *8, it seems to ignore or drop the 8 digit. I've confirmed that this happens with all of my 12 Polycom 501s. Does anyone know what would cause this or how to fix it? Polycom boot server problem
Hi, I'm trying to configure a Polycom IP Phone SoundPoint 500 to connect it to my Asterisk PBX but with no success. First of all, I downloaded the SoundPoint IP SIP Administration guide I found on internet and then I tried to make a boot server creating an FTP account on my Mandrake 9.1 Linux box but I needed the following files: 000000000000.cfg sip.cfg phone1.cfg ipmid.cfg sip.ld so I

Polycom Productivity Suite
Has anyone been able to do the following: 1. Set the phone to automatically record all calls to the USB stick, now you have to press three keys. 2. Put Record on the main screen when a call is active. This would eliminate having to press the 'more' softkey. Thanks, Matt

7 points of comparison Polycom 430/501 and Aastra 480i. Which one to choose ?
I need to provide a 80 people office with VOIP. I want to commit to one vendor Polycom or Aastra. Price of the phones is not a factor in the decision. The quality of the phones is the factor. Some of the features that I am evaluating on are: (arranged in order of priority) 1. Sound quality 2. complete product line with conference phone and receptionist phone (not on Aastra) 3. cordless (not on

Which SIP phones to buy?
I need to buy some new phones for our own offices. I've used only Polycom phones until now, but I'd like to broaden my experience. I'm trying to decide which phones to experiment with. I have these options: - A combination of Polycom, Aastra and Snom - Just Polycom One the one hand, I'd like to keep things uniform, since it greatly simplifies provisioning. On the other hand, I

Polycom IP335
I am posting here since you guys are my last hope. I am trying to configure a Polycom Soundpoint IP 335 with MWI. Is there any way to eliminate the scrolling messages and Msgs softkey? I am trying to get it where it's just the light that indicates the new messages. I don't know if Asterisk has to send a different notification or what have you. Thanks, --Eric -------------- next

If I have two extensions: exten 128 SIP username: chris exten 117 SIP username: pam I call 128 from 117, and then try to use the Polycom IP 600 "park" softkey (on 117), it fails and this is what happens: Sip read: REFER sip:128@192.168.25.1 SIP/2.0 Via: SIP/2.0/UDP 192.168.25.119:5060;branch=z9hG4bKae271046B272902B From: "pam"

Polycom 501 issue with latest firmware : sluggish keys
Hi, I've upgraded a few Polycom 501 to SIP 2.0.3b (can't get 2.1.0 because of Polycom's firmware policy, but this is the "latest publicly available" from Polycom's web site). I've noticed that some keys get "sticky" though. Soft buttons for example (i.e. "end call") need to be pressed 2-3 times for them to react. I've downgraded to
