Has anyone been able to get the minibrowser on the Polycom SoundPoint IP 500/600 phones working? If so could you share the relevant sections of your config with me?

I am getting ready to install Asterisk and I was looking into the Polycom IP600 phones. I spoke with Polycom sales to verify the multiple line appearance and they said it would work. More specifically, if lines 1-3 all contain the same SIP registration info, the Polycom will only send out 1 SIP registration to the server and then handle the calls ringing on multiple lines. This Polycom phone seems to be one of the best on the market for sound quality and features. I have seen on the list that some people have gotten the IP 600 to work with Asterisk. I have been testing with Polycom IP600 phones for a month or so. I found out that there are frequent problems with the handset. The problem is I can hear the other end but the other end cannot hear me. I have already downloaded the latest bootROM 3.1.3 and sip 2.1.2 However, there are no problems with the headset or speaker phone. Has anyone encountered such problems before? Thanks.

Hello, I am looking at the Polycom phones. The ip600 has a very nice screen, is that the only real advantage over the ip500 and ip300.. Is it worth the extra dollars? Hello, I have a polycom ip600 and eyebeam. When I call from polycom to eyeBeam, everything, including audio works. When I call the other side (from eyeBeam to polycom), I get no audio. In both cases, eyeBeam shows the same codec: g711u. Also sip show channels shows ulaw codec for both sides and correct addresses. I have canreinvite=no. I don't know if it's important, but asterisk

The IP600 shows the status of the IP300 and a ZAP line quite nicely, but the IP300 won't show the status of the IP600.... I have a couple of Polycom phones, bootrom 2.5.0, SIP 1.3.1.0056. Works great with Asterisk when I power on the phone. However, after some time, say an hour, I cannot receive calls on this phone. On Asterisk, when I do "database show", it does show the phone in there, but it cannot reach the phone. Is there a way to keep alive the connection with Polycom? Any suggestions? Thanks, --

The piece of plastic is built in to the IP600. Use a screwdriver or something similar and push the little piece of plastic out from the top inside the cradle. Hi, I'm testing a Polycom IP600. With firmware version 1.1 the phone reboots at any time. With firmware version 1.2, the first reboot was an endless reboot. Then I moved the phone to another lan port, then it worked fine. Then I installed again in the initial lan port and the phone works well. However after some time of inactivity (1 hour?), the IP600 stops to send and receive calls.
