Sixtel.net / IAX.CC - Vanity Toll-Free Number
How long does it take to get a vanity number? I signed up for an account,
pre-paid some money, and then placed a vanity number order. I did all of
that around Dec. 31st 2004. They said it would take 2-10 business days. It
is now Feb. 15th and still no vanity number. I've called them about a dozen
times and every time they tell me to keep calling the number to check it and
just wait. I'm

Asterisk@Home and iax.cc / sixTel
Hi,
How is iax.cc / sixTel to be configured as a termination provider in
asterisk@home?
The iax.cc / sixTel instructions tell you to do this:
iax.conf:
------------
[sixTel]
type = friend
host = iax2.sixtel.net
context = inbound
secret = mypassword
allow = all
extensions.conf:

iax.cc / sixtel are they legitimate?
Does anyone have any experience with iax.cc/sixtel?
Are they a legitimate company? From their website
it looks like you can get a private incoming 800
number for 30 cents/month plus 2 cents/minute.
Somehow that pricing seems a little cheap for a
DID number. I assume there has to be some minimum
usage or something. Any info as far as actual costs
and/or voice quality would be appreciated.

Sixtel is still alive?
Whoa, talk about flying under the radar. I got a few DIDs *months* ago
from Sixtel (or iax.cc). Initial respone was great, but then it seemed
that the only tech-support person had fled the country. No responses,
bad responses, poor call-quality. I had a few $s left in the balance
and kind-a just forgot about them. Not worth 10 minutes of my time to
get $10 of my money back, quite frankly.

where can i get a vanity DID?
>From what I understand if I have an asterisk pbx set
up, I can also get a vanity DID.
1) Where I get the DID from does not matter, my voip
provider can use the DID i ask them to. Is this
correct?
2) What place has good vanity DID's?
3) Do toll free DID's save me or the person calling me
money? Or are toll free DIDS more expensive?
4) Where can I get a good vanity DID. I would

iax.cc opinion request
I am considering using iax.cc (sixtel) and wondering if anyone had
opinions, good or bad. Are there outages with any regularity? How
responsive are tech support? How is packet loss? I am particularly
interested in termination to the UK, but will accept any comments people
have.
Thanks

re: Sixtel Services
I'm using SixTel as a test (Opened account w/ $10) and am happy with
them so far... In their basic service package, they don't charge a
monthly fee, and it's outbound only, and you get charged for every
minute. I paid for a DID, which is $1.50 or so per month, and it lets
me receive inbound calls, which I also pay for by the minute.. I don't
mind this for a service like this

Any experience with Sixtel--tollfreedirect--iax.cc?
Appears to be a diversified company (Google of it shows that they do web
design, VOIP, etc.). But this link caused me concern.

OT: iax.cc/sixTel local DID question
When you choose to add an unlimited local DID to your account from their
control panel, do you get to pick the prefix/NXX, or just the area code?
Their isn't any indication of whether or not clicking the Add button
will immediately add a number to my account or take me to another screen
to pick a NXX.
(I don't want to click the 910 area code to find out they giving me a

SixTel?
I was just checking out the dids for all of my fail over providers and
noticed that neither DID that I have with SixTel work.
Both pause for a long long time
The local number gives a recording: 'The number you have dialed is not
in service or is assigned in a different area code. Please check your
number and dial again'.
The 800 number just rings busy.
Anyone else having this issue or

How to get in touch with sixTel?
If anybody here is a sixTel customer, can you share any tips & tricks
for getting in touch with anybody there? They are absurdly hard to get a
hold of, particularly when you have a technical issue needing to be
resolved. If anyone has any phone numbers other than their main 800
line, I'd sure appreciate it.
Thank you,
Bryan

Has Sixtel gone under?
I have been using Sixtel from the beginning of the year and service was
getting worse and worse. Yesterday I tried to access the website to get the
CDR and I got an error saying that the domain no longer exists. I checked the
whois and it says that the domain is on hold. Have they finally folded?

toll-free anonymous
Hi, I'm Andrew.
(Hi Andrew)
I'm a toll-free number junkie.
I've had an account with iax.cc/sixtel for about a week, and every few
days, I find myself sitting at the DID menu clicking the link that reads
"Click here to get a random toll free number".
I have three toll-free numbers now, and I don't know if it will stop...
Is there any hope for me?

Toll-free DID switchover: Get status?
Hello!
I am in the middle of having a vanity toll-free DID set up. It's been 13
days now (9 business days). This is the first time I'm doing this, and
I'm not sure of the process. There has been a very weird progression of
changes on my number, from fast-busy, to a message saying that I'm calling
from a phone with restrictions (no matter *what* line I call from), to a

one-way audio
Im experiencing a problem with a current setup and I've run out of ways to
debug it and come to a resolution.
I have two E100P's in a machine which is routing traffic over the internet
to a machine that has 1 E400P connected to the PSTN. Clients are able to
make calls successfully but when the call is connected experience one-way
audio. They cannot hear anything said by the person
