Just curious... Is there anyone out there who has given this outfit money and actually received any service from them?

I have been using them since 2/2/2005. While there have been occasional glitches, some severe, for the most part their service works extremely well. For a long time, the biggest complaint was receiving DID's in a timely manner, or at all. Relatively recently, they ran a promotion for vanity DID's, and I signed up for two of them, bother of which were provisioned within the time that they claimed they would, and both work well. That said, of all of the providers I use, the most rock-solid in terms of availability and quality is NuFone. I know many people have complained on the lists before about their "service", but I have found their responsiveness to be excellent, so not everyone is getting the same results. They are the most expensive of the services I subscribe to (still very cheap!!!), but they are also the most reliable. To be more specific, all of my _wife's_ calls get routed through NuFone, because when they weren't, I never heard the end of it ;-)

Just prepaid outbound, cant comment on any other services. They are in the process of getting the final steps to being a clec completed now (state certification I believe was done months ago, interconnection should be done about now). They may be able to offer better services and rates as a result, I am not sure. -- Trixter http://www.0xdecafbad.com Bret McDanel UK +44 870 340 4605 Germany +49 801 777 555 3402 US +1 360 207 0479 or +1 516 687 5200 FreeWorldDialup: 635378 http://www.sacaug.org/ Sacramento Asterisk Users Group -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... > Is there anyone out there who has given this outfit money and actually > received any service from them?I am about to give up on sixTel, because of poor customer service. It's a shame, because they otherwise seem quite competent. I signed up Sept. 23 at http://www.iax.cc . Outbound service worked right away, with one minor issue: calls to some busy numbers resulted in ring-no-answer. I called support and it was fixed promptly. Calls to USA and Canada are completed reliably, have good voice quality, are reasonably priced, and are accurately billed. There is also a good control interface with real-time CDRs, etc. I then signed up online for a toll-free number for testing. It works well, too, and is quite reasonable $0.019/min. plus $0.20/mo. However, my intended use for this service was to port a toll-free number that I presently have with another carrier. More than a month after submitting the resporg form, and after numerous unanswered inquiries, I received a message on Nov. 21 saying:> Sorry for the delay. Your ticket request is being processed. > We have been short staffed the last week or so due to an unexpected > departure. It's pretty bad when one missing support person can cause so much delay. Worse, that ticket still hasn't been answered, nor have any follow-up requests. And, I can't reach them by phone anymore. The only good news is that the old carrier still has the number, so I'm not losing calls. I also have a technical issue that has gone unanswered: overseas calls don't work from my account. This is not a major problem (can use other providers), but it indicates that the lack of response is not limited to porting problems. If anyone at sixTel reads this list, and you still want my business, please answer the tickets, or reply off-list. Thanks, Stewart
I have. I have not noticed any major problems with my 800 DIDs or outgoing with them for about a year now. I don't use them very much though> -----Original Message----- > From: Bill Michaelson [mailto:bill@cosi.com] > Sent: Thursday, December 01, 2005 2:25 PM > To: Asterisk Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial Discussion > Subject: [Asterisk-Users] sixtel > > Just curious... > > Is there anyone out there who has given this outfit money and actually > received any service from them?

It might look like I'm doing nothing, but at the cellular level, I'm really quite busy.
Just wondering everyone's experience with Six Tel (http://www.iax.cc/show.php?go=local)? They seem to have some really decent prices but I have heard some "buyer beware" comments elsewhere. I have a number of toll free DIDs with them. Never had a problem. Control panel is excellent and they even give you specific configs. I don't run much traffic through them but when I do, no problems. As always, let the buyer beware.
