Cisco 7960 backlight and list etiquette?
Hi I've taken apart a 7960 to fit a backlight to the LCD. Would others on the list be interested in this as a project when I've finished (i.e. should I document and photo all the stages)? Also I can source some 7960's at a very good price but what are the rules about posting this information on the list if others were interested? P

Can everyone who is a member of this list please read this document: http://www.gweep.ca/~edmonds/usenet/ml-etiquette.html Especially the section "I've been insulted! How should I respond?" Please, please, please ... can we be civil and not attack people personally. List etiquette question
I''ve written a little ruby/rails hangman-ish app to keep my wife occupied at work that I think list members might also find interesting. I''m new to this list so I wanted to see if it would be considered bad form to post the link before I did. There aren''t any ads so I''m not getting anything out of more visitors, but I still didn''t want to take the

Mailing list etiquette? [mildly off-topic]
Since i've gotten so much help from this list with my samba issues, i've been trying to be active and help others, but heres my question. If I reply to someone, should I send it JUST to the mailing list, JUST to the person i'm helping, or both? I've been keeping it on the mailing list, but some people may want the help to come into their main mailbox. Should I send to both?

Asterisk-Users List Etiquette
...like any other mailing list, has a purpose. A focus if you will. Hopefully this 'document' will point out some key things we need to change to help this list remain friendly and helpful, not to mention, a vital asset to the Asterisk community. And now, for the Asterisk-Users dial plan: [Etiquette] Exten => s,1, Posts to the Asterisk-Users list should be concise, and on-topic. Remember, the topic is ASTERISK, not "Provider X doesn't answer email", or "Provider Y doesn't have rates listed on their website." Gripes of this nature, and...

List-etiquette * AGAIN *
* Please DO NOT post the same message to two lists. We have divided the lists to be able to stay focused and lesser the burden. You are not raising the chances of getting a reply, you are instead annoying a lot of people. Email etiquette
Hello, When replying to emails, please remove any lines of the original text you are not replying to, especially if you are bottom-posting, to prevent people from having to scroll through pages and pages of useless quoted text. I would recommend people use inline replying instead of top- or bottom-posting, but as long as your emails look tidy I'll not make an issue of that :)

Hi Jim, Thanks for putting in the effort here. It's never a good situation to have to moderate, but sometimes it is necessary. >From my perspective, this kind of thing happens far more often than the current example, though maybe not with such intensity. This situation forces me to evaluate if replying to any message on this list is going to be worth the headache of the inevitable noise
