These fora are for anyone interested in helping with development of R, respectively asking and answering questions about its use. This means not just the core R but also add-on packages and - as in your case - ports to other systems. If the lists overflow, we can always set up a special list for R-Win, but I don't think that will be necessary. -- O__ ---- Peter Dalgaard Blegdamsvej 3 c/ /'_ --- Dept. of Biostatistics 2200 Cph. I think you're being too modest ... you put a lot of effort in preparing the binary distribution of R! The lists are about discussing all aspects of R, including ports, etc. Its perfectly fine to put the above statement into the README. Perhaps, the question is silly. But, I prefer asking it before making a mistake. I have just packed a binary distribution of R for Windows3.1/Win32s. It is equivalent to the previous one for Win95/NT (R-0.61.3 + many of the available packages) and it is compiled with egcs-mingw32 (GPL not a commercial compiler). Now, in preparing the README, I put the following sentence: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- This distribution is not formally maintained, but I am interested in hearing (on r-devel and r-help) from people who have problems with it, although I may not be able to solve them. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- The etiquette question is: can I ask people to use r-devel/r-help although I am not managing these lists? guido m. -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- r-devel mailing list -- Read http://www.ci.tuwien.ac.at/~hornik/R/R-FAQ.html Send "info", "help", or "[un]subscribe" (in the "body", not the subject !)
