Need Cisco 7940 or 7960s at good price for Asterisk deployment
Folks -- I know this isn't directly an * issue, but I need to buy 14 7940s (preferably) (or 7960s if the price is also reasonable) --- no power cubes, immediately. If anyone has a good price, contact me offline at 512-427-1324 or lenny @ rocksteady.com Thanks, Lenny

Cisco 7960s
Cisco should really be ashamed of this product... While it is physically well constructed, and has excellent sound quality along with a very pleasant user interface, the device has SERIOUS stability issues, unless you run your network with an iron fist... Quite by accident, while configuring my Asterisk system to connect to a Cisco 7960 via SIP in a standard office PBX type arrangement, I

Cisco 7960 Can't be unlocked
Odd problem here--I just got a couple of Cisco 7960s from Ebay that are not functioning as expected...... These 7960s can't seem to be unlocked for manual configuration via any mechanism that I can find. If you go to settings, there is no option 9 (unlock). Available options stop at 4 (Status). **# has no effect. The Phones report that...

Identifying Queue on Cisco 7960
Hey Guys, I apologize for my ignorance on this one. I've got several 7960s running on Asterisk1.4 with 15 or separate queues and am trying to figure out a way to identify to the 7960s, what queue the incoming call is on? Is this possible at all? Thanks! -- Robert Norton SophMedia LLC Operations Manager Cell: 480-234-4312 Office: 480-626-5449 (x300) P.O. Box 7755 Tempe,...

A room full of Cisco 7960s behind NAT
I need to set up an office full of Cisco 7960 phones behind NAT with the server out in Colo. The first test phone registers fine, but the second one does not register. The first phone's registration looks like so: /SIP/Registry/3115552368 :64.169.xx.yyy:38836:3600:3115552368:sip:3115552368@64.169.xx.yyy:5060 When the second phone tries to register, it gets back a 404 not found. Asterisk and 7960s
Hi, I have got my setup almost how I would like it now, but I have just two last remaining issues that I cant seem to find answers too so i'd be grateful if someone could help? 1) Since upgrading my Cisco 7960 SIP phone to P0S3-08-2-00 the phone now displays the IP address of my asterisk server alongside the caller ID of the incoming call. For example "0123456789@192.168.0.1",

estara softphone problem
Hi all, I installed the estara softphone and had no problem registering it with asterisk. I could make calls to other hardware SIP phones (Cisco 7960) from the softphone, but I couldn't call the softphone from the Cisco 7960s. The asterisk console gave me an error message saying "unable to create channel" to my softphone. What could be the problem? I searched the archive with no luck. When you reply, please copy to hao_zhong@yahoo.com, really appreciate it! __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?...

Transfer directly to voicemail?
...ly to someone voicemail? Example: I receive a call, the caller wants to speak with x, who I know is not in the office. Other than transferring them to x's extension, which rings to timeout and then picks up voicemail, can I transfer right into voicemail? I am using all SIP phones in my setup (7960s). Thanks, Daryl

SIP Phone Recommendations?
Hi all. I'm in the process of putting together a new Asterisk system as a proof-of-concept, and wanted to see which SIP phones all of you had the best luck using with Asterisk. ?I've just come off a very trying experience with some Cisco 7960s, and am looking for something else to round out the phones on our network. This is a small setup, for no more than 20 users total. ?We need at least one of them to be a "receptionist" phone, the sort that calls can be routed from throughout the network, and then several more garden-v...

[...] Care to share some code examples, or maybe where you found the documentation for doing this? I've got a couple of 7960s working great with * now, but would like to get some of the finishing touches like this underway. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. Daryl

Asterisk receives busy..but its not...
I'm guessing this is a problem with the phone itself. We all have Cisco 7960s with 7.3 firmware. I can yell down the hall at 3091 and say "are you on the phone?" and she yells back "no". But when I try and call her extension, I get this: -- Executing Dial("SIP/3044-8eb6", "SIP/3091|15") in new stack -- Called 3091 -- Got SIP response...

chan_sccp2 & 7960 -- documentation and example request.
...What configuration files are required? 3. What is the syntax/format of the configuration files? 4. What is the syntax for Dial() when using sccp2? I have no experience with skinny/sccp as I have been using SIP and IAX2. I would like to try to take advantage of the extended featureset of the 7960s in SCCP mode. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks! Robert Lawrence

Double Call Progress tones
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 This is slowly driving me nuts! I have several Cisco 7960s with SIP 8.2/7.5 fw connecting to Asterisk 1.2.5 driving a TE110P on a BT EuroISDN PRI line. On all outgoing calls I get a double ring tone (UK style + US style). I also have a DECT phone on a Sipura SPA-3000 configured with UK tones. This gives me a double ring of UK + UK, so this suggests t...

Cisco 7960 become UNREACHABLE behind pix firewall
Hi, I have about 10 Cisco 7960s behind a PIX 506E (IOS v6.3) firewall. After some period of time, asterisk says that some of them are unreachable, and the phones lose their registration. The only way to make the phones recover is to clear the NAT translation tables for the phones on the PIX (clear xlate...) Does anyone know how t...

Multiple Line Appearances
Has anyone successfully implemented concurrent appearance of the same PBX extension on multiple SIP phones? When using Cisco 7960s under call manager, you can have several phones with the same line appearance, but the first user to seize a line makes it inaccessible to other phones. Under SIP operation it seems as though this is not possible, but we don't see group ringing definable for SIP extensions. Thanks for your...

Cisco 7960 SIP speed dial
I'm having great success using Cisco 7960s with Asterisk but one Cisco 7960 specific function that's puzzling me is programming the 'line buttons' (6 buttons on the upper right side of the phone) for speed dial. I'm not using any Cisco applications like Call Manager and the phones are SIP. *All* of the documentation I'v...

TFTP problems on FC4
Greetings to all. I am hoping someone can help me out with a problem I am having getting my Cisco phones, 7960s and 7940s, to download the appropriate files from our TFTP server. Call Parking on 7960
Hi all, I've got a fairly minor question, but it's getting on my nerves .. hopefully it's an easy answer. I'm having trouble parking calls on our 7960s. It works fine on ZAP devices, though, and they're both using the same context. What I do is: When I'm on the call, I hit More, Transfer, 700, Dial. I then get a fast busy. If I dial 701, for example, I do get the "no call parked here", so I know it's somewhat working....

Info sip/h.323 interoperability
...he next message I've seen an e-mail """ [Asterisk-Users] Cisco 7960 with Asterisk & H.323 Shaun Ewing asterisk-users@lists.digium.com Mon, 26 May 2003 21:56:42 +1000 """ I've red in that mail you """ have over a hundred 7960s using Asterisk and chan_h323 """, so my question is: Asterisk supports this interoperability ? I have done some test with Vocal to make calls from IP cisco Phone via sip/h323 translator to connect with Netmeeting or other h.323 end points... If this interoparability is...
