Cisco 7960 (SIP) hold problems
Has anyone had problems with using hold on a 7960 SIP firmware? The problem is when the 7960 puts a call on hold and you take it off hold again, the 7960 outbound audio is delayed on the other end. Sometimes up to a few seconds. I've tried a couple different things, making the "other end" a diff type of trunk ie: 7960sip --> aste...

Codecs for use with Cisco 7960 and ATA-186
Are there any other codecs that can be used with the 7960 and the ATA-186? I have been using the default gsm codec and wanted to see if I could make use of something a little less bandwidth intensive. Cisco 7960 bug in 6.1 evident in Asterisk
So, I've managed to consistently lock up my Cisco 7960 (SIP 6.1) to the point where it needs to be unplugged, due to software errors. This is a first. My suspicions are that this bug in Asterisk is causing the lockups: http://bugs.digium.com/bug_view_page.php?bug_id=0000889 It seems unusual to me that a low volume of bogus SIP messages should l...

sometimes half audio on 7960
Hi, I am getting half channel audio on cisco 7960? Any idea why? Details below. Jerry This same phone has been working for MONTHS using a TDM2400p with no issues. Today we got a T1 installed coming into Box A with all incoming calls going to Box B (the TDM2400P box). The TDM2400 is no longer in use. All incoming and outgoing calls are done wi...

Cisco 7960 or 7960G
Is there more than one version of the Cisco 7960? I see some items advertised as 7960 or 7960G, but searching on 7960 only brings up 7960G info, or ambiguous stuff. joe a.

Cisco 7960 lockups - any experiences?
This is almost certainly not an Asterisk-specific posting, but due to my inability to find a VoIP-focused Cisco list, I'll post here in the hopes of finding a more diverse user community. I am using a Cisco 7960 (version 6.0 SIP firmware) with Asterisk, and have been experiencing situations where the phone locks up. "Locks up" means that the bottom part of the screen ("Your current options" and the redial/newcall/cfwdall keys) disappears, and all keys on the keypad are non-function...

Problem with setting ringtones on Cisco 7960 phone.
Hi All, I am running into a problem setting the ringtones via _ALERT_INFO on the Cisco 7960 phone. I am using * 1.2.1 and have tried setting the variable to several values. I have also tried setting the phone's software to both 7.5 and 8.2 thinking that it might be a version issue, but with no success. I have examined the packets and do see the ALERT_INFO header being sent, but...

sometimes dtmf passed, sometimes not (cisco 7960 SIP)
...xample) my voicemail, the dtmf tones are passed perfectly, I can enter password, change folders, etc etc. I'm trying to get the phone set up so I can use it from a remote location, and due to both ends being behind nat, I figured that the best way+ would be to have a sipgate account that the 7960 registers to, a sipgate account that the * box registers to, and when the * box receives a call, it can pass it to XXXXXX@sipgate (7960 at home), rather than a local extension. +OK, easiest way. I know the best way would be to have a 2nd * server and hook them up via IAX ;-) This works great,...

Cisco 7960 Promiscuous Redirect?
List, A Cisco 7960 is registered to servers A and B, where B is the backup server, only used by the 7960 if A is unreachable. That is the behavior of these phones. A call comes from server B to the 7960, which is successful. The 7960 then tries to park the call via an attended transfer, so the 7960 calls 700 at se...

Cisco 7960
Anyone know if it is possible to load your own XML scripts on to the phone, bypassing the Cisco CallManager? I am still waiting for my phone to arrive, but I have been playing with Cisco's phone services emulator, and that doesn't seem to like anything I pass to it. If it is possible, anyone want to share any sample scripts they have. --Mike

AArgh, * and the 7960
I've just had the most appalling performance from * ever. Dialling: Cisco 7960 => asterisk => IAX produces sound drop outs so extreme that the call is useless. I noted this in an earlier post. Dialling: Cisco ATA186 => asterisk => IAX is fine. Frankly, I think this is such a bad problem that it should be sorted in advance of any of the new features that se...

Cisco 7960 and Asterisk...not working...
Chuck, The first thing I would do is to upgrade the load to version 6 or higher. I'm running the latest...version 7.2. (I'm very happy with it) Are you using TFTP to load the configuration or manually configuring the 7960? I know it's a pain to setup TFTP just for a quick test. However, it's well worth it. If you have a CCO account you can find the latest load and config files here: http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/sip-ip-phone7960 After getting the infrastructure in place the following link was a...
