Hi Everyone, Looking for that little extra bit of explanation about Primary groups, SID's and GID's. Just to help me over that final little understanding hurdle... Anyone know of a nice site with info? I printed out <http://ftp.easynet.be/samba/docs/man/howto/> from stem to stern. But this primary group thing baffles me just a little. I need to set it so that I can connect to my Samba PDC with the server tools of Windows NT. But I continuously get a "The specified local group does not exist." from usermanager. Server manager is alright though. According to Google that's because my primary group has not been set. I've been trying usermod -g 'group' 'user' and "pdbedit -r -u USER -G S-1-5-21-141977700-2934510299-2690187342-512" but nothing seems to help... So. If anyone can help me with some info-sites. Thanks, Mark amslinux:~# pdbedit -r -u domadm -G S-1-5-21-141977700-2934510299-2690187342-512 Unix username: domadm NT username: domadm Account Flags: [U ] User SID: S-1-5-21-141977700-2934510299-2690187342-1546 Primary Group SID: S-1-5-21-141977700-2934510299-2690187342-512 Full Name: Home Directory: \\amslinux\domadm HomeDir Drive: H: Logon Script: kix32.exe Profile Path: Domain: AMS Account desc: Workstations: Munged dial: Logon time: Wed, 26 May 2004 14:43:09 GMT Logoff time: Fri, 13 Dec 1901 21:45:51 GMT Kickoff time: Fri, 13 Dec 1901 21:45:51 GMT Password last set: Fri, 28 May 2004 20:12:18 GMT Password can change: Fri, 28 May 2004 20:12:18 GMT Password must change: Fri, 13 Dec 1901 21:45:51 GMT
