Samba 3.0.20 and UserManager
Hi all.
Just tried to upgrade our test PDC server from 3.0.14a to 3.0.20, and now
i've stumbled in to the following error.
Using the User Manager for Domains causes a "Procedure out of range" error.
Using DameWare NT Utilities causes the application to crash.
Tried both in WIN2000 and XP.
If I downgrade to 3.0.14a again everything is OK.
Server Manager works OK in both versions.

How to use API from AWS -- help!
I''m building a users web service (direct dispatching) that will (I hope)
allow several other applications to manage the same pool of users. Plus
it will act as a single-sign-on solution for what I''m doing. But I''m
having difficulty accessing the UserAPI. Here''s what I''ve done so far:

Usermanager for domains 3.0.2a... This a known bug?
I have Samba version 3.0.2a-3mdk with an LDAP backend. Works great but
I can't seem to get user manager for domains to work with it. I'm
thinking that perhaps it might be a samba bug that has probably since
been corrected. Can anyone validate this idea?

error adding a user
...orry for (I'm shure) my stupid question (and my bad english)...
If this is not the right place to post this kind of question forgive me
and please point me to the right mailinglist.
I've a Samba 3 that works with an openldap server as a sole domain controller.
I used to use the Microsoft usermanager.
After a general migration/upgrate I am not able to create new users anymore.
I can do it with the smbldap-tools, manually only from the root user but
if I do it through the usermanager it gives me an error.
A net user add command done with the same adminitrator user give me this error:

Managing users
Hi,
I'm struggling to manage users via the Nexus-tool on a Samba PDC. I am
unable to add users, although I can remove them and add and remove
groups. When I try to add a user, there is a message 'Procedure number
out of range' or something like that (I'm translating from Dutch).
I'm using the smb.conf of Samba by Example, chapter 4, from the CD. I
did the validation tests

Adding local group -> Access denied
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hi there,
short question: I try to add a local group via the NT-Usermanager
("usrmgr.exe"), but everytime I get a "Access denied". Adding a global
group works. I'm logged on as "Administrator". I'm running Samba 3.0.14a
on Debian Sarge (testing) with the smbldap-tools (v0.8.8).
What could I have done wrong?
Thanks.

Surprising/Unexpected result after deleting and re-adding a user on our Samba domain
...emove a user from all
the groups before the account it deleted. (I will probably code this into
our account cleanup scripts)
This also means renaming an ID would be more involved than I (given a
windows background) had assumed. We don't do it, but I had assumed that an
account rename from usermanager would work.
thanks,

USRMGR.EXE doesn't work anymore.
I've upgraded my system at Samba 3.0.20 (SLES 8) bacause of some errors
on winbind and Windows 2003.
Now, usrmgr.exe doesn't work anymore.
It reports: ?procedure number is out of range - Do you want to
administrate another domain??
USRMGR has been working for 3 years; I've made all upgrades on Windows
2000, but the results it's the same.
Any Idea?

Ldap and "domain admin group"

I have tried to add a user (not a group) to "domain admin group" in
smb.conf with no success. If i use the usermanager an check the
Administrators group on the local machine there are two members,
Administrator and DOMAIN\unix_group.2147483404 and the user does NOT
get administrative priviliges on the local machine. If I add the
user to the Administrators group on the local machine it works as expected.

[VS]
This bug is still buggy. https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=892
i only tested it with the mysql passwdbackend and the tdbpasswd.
tdb is ok, and does not have this error.

at the moment i'm busy makeing a login script (vbs) that get's the

Terminal Server entries in SambaPDC
Hello,
is it possible to modify Terminal Server entries like 'Terminal Server
Profile Path' and 'Terminal Server Home Directory' with 'pdbedit'? In
case of 'yes', idd like to know the syntax. In case of 'no', can it be
done otherwise (except for the usermanager in Windows)?
Thanks in advance,

Groups not listed in USERMGR.EXE
Dear list,
I'm using samba 3.0.2a on a RedHat Linux server. Samba is configured as
being a PDC. When I use
the usermanager from SRVTOOLS.EXE on my W2K workstation I don't see any
groups listed in the window
below the userlist. Also when I look at the properties of on of the user
(who is member of more than one
group) I only see that a primary group is assigned, the one in /etc/passwd.
The "member of" and...

Question to the Samba-Developer
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hi there,
as mentioned in a thread before, I'm in trouble when trying to add a
local group via NT-Usermanager. I think the problem is the following
line in the smb.conf:
add group script = /usr/local/sbin/smbldap-groupadd -p "%g"
In this case, the only parameter that is handed over to the
smbldap-groupadd script is the name of the group ("%g"). Unfortunately
the script doesn't kno...
