KIX script
Hi, We are testing AD migration and have come across an issue with login script. The current (pre-ad) login scripts is located in /home/samba/netlogon and the login script is KIX32.exe. Post the migration, we copied the contents of the /home/samba/netlogon to /var/lib/samba/sysvol/lin.group/scripts. When the users (both standard users and domain admins) login, the login script (KIX32) doesn't execute. We found the following: If we browse to the path //server5/netlogon a...

Login scripts and Win9x clients
Hi all, I have two systems using Win98 and one using Win95. These three systems do not automatically execute their login scripts. I can map the network drives manually and tell them to reconnect at login, but I am wondering why they don't execute them. I can log in, browse to my netlogon share (if I make it browseable), and execute the script manually, and it works. Well, it mostly

how to set folder redirection on Windows 7 with a Samba PDC
Hi, I have read that Windows 7 is using a new admx format and that it is not compatible with the old-school poledit. If I would like to stick with a Samba PDC, is there any elegant way to get Windows 7 client to obey the folder redirection(and possibly other rules) set using poledit & NTConfig.pol? I have been searching the mailing list, but there doesn't seems to be much detailed

...gin scipts and everything works like a charm! When the same user accesses a computer residing, to give an example, on the subnet 192.168.101, well, the the user can log in, but no shares will be visible besides the users own home folder and the netlogon scripts will time out and claim that kix32.exe is not a valid win32 application and also an access denied will be issued. The machines within the subnet 192.168.100.0 give no such notice. It just works. I have double checked all the rights on the netlogon folder and the login script works. We have the sam machines (Win7) as in the r...

netlogin scripts
running debian 3.1 "sarge" ppc and samba 3.08 I want to have my win98se computer users to have their shares automatically mapped. 1. I have read that I would use a netlogin directory and put scripts in there? 2. Does anyone know if samba has to be set up a special way ADS, wins, etc... to use the netlogin directory and it's scripts? "this server is the only smb server

universal netlogon script
Hi Guys, Advise, I have 200 users, they all have access to 20 shares in different combinations. They all have their own netlogon scripts... its a management nightmare, is there a way to create a universal netlogon script that I can include all the shares to mount and it will silently fail on the ones it cant? Perhaps there is a smarter way to implement this idea, lynching is welcome, so is

How to install network apps?
I'm trying to figure out an intelligent way to install apps on the network server, and be able to install once and have all the clients use this. However, it seems like most installations modify the registry and seem to demand a client-by-client installation. Am I missing something on this? Can someone provide me some hints or references to help this? (And is anyone thinking about a SMS/ZEN
