Just a list member here, but I found SAMS "Samba Unleashed" to be
quite a good reference.
The problem is, some really smart people <grin> are trying to target
Microsoft subsystems that are poorly documented (or have no public documentation
*at all*). You can sniff packets to get something working in one set of
circumstances... but that's not the same as fully reverse engineering a
suite of encrypted protocols.
So, yes it's not user friendly (but keep in mind the above problem).
Get the book. It's not a terse "nutshell", nor is it a true
beginners book... it tries to be a fully comprehensive "everything"
book (and does quite well, in my opinion).
Searching the list archives (or Google) is the next best thing. Be prepared to
spend time refining your search terms to avoid bad hits.
