[Rails] OT -- What is with all the fragmented threads recently?
Is it my imagination or has there been a huge increase in the number of fragmented threads in the last several days? Maybe it''s Gmail doing something crazy, but I see dozens of top-level conversations starting with replies (ex. "Re: [Rails] omfg something broke"). Did people collectively forget what the "reply" button looks like, or is the list software doing something weird? -- James

It seems like answers to threads that I never saw the original question for are popping up all over the place. Is rubyforum or something else not sending posts to the real mailing list? -Ezra

[will this make it? - posted via email] I suspect it has to do with DHH''s comments regarding servers being added to support additional traffic to trac and mailman. I''ve posted 3 that haven''t made it. I''ll from nabble. [will this make it? double-post --> posted via nabble] I suspect it has to do with DHH''s comments regarding servers being added to support additional traffic to trac and mailman. I''ve posted 3 that haven''t made it. I''ll try from nabble. I''m also receiving the mailing list via gmail, so i wonder if it''s there. But I''ve noticed that I''m getting all the threads but in the wrong order. The timestamps are all screwy, putting the replies before the original posts, etc... Not sure what''s going on. -Mat

If I look at the subject field for the last ten mailing list digests I see: Vol 23, Issue 277, 272, 271, 270. 267, 266, 265, 264, 263, 254 so I''d conclude that the mailing list software is dropping some volumes. Guy

The list is definitely not regular. Lots of people double posting answers as well. i see this too. and i use gmail. even in this thread there are many doublepostings and the order seems to be fucked up. either gmail is broken or the list. or we. :) does anybody have this issue who does NOT use gmail? 2006/8/11, James Ludlow <jamesludlow@gmail.com>:> > On 8/11/06, Jodi Showers <jodi@nnovation.ca> wrote: > > [will this make it? - posted via email] > > > > I suspect it has to do with DHH''s comments regarding servers being > > added to support additional traffic to trac and mailman. > > > > I''ve posted 3 that haven''t made it. I hope the new server sorts this out. Justin
