Dear sir/madam, I encountered some problems when running R on my computer. To be honest, I am only a beginner of computer programming and I have no idea how to deal with it. I have tried to change the font in "system preference" but it did not work. Can you tell me how to get it right? The system of my computer is Mac OS snow leopard The warnings are like these: During startup - Warning messages: 1: Setting LC_CTYPE failed, using "C" 2: Setting LC_COLLATE failed, using "C" 3: Setting LC_TIME failed, using "C" 4: Setting LC_MESSAGES failed, using "C" 5: Setting LC_PAPER failed, using "C" [R.app GUI 1.52 (6188) i386-apple-darwin9.8.0] WARNING: You're using a non-UTF8 locale, therefore only ASCII characters will work. Please read R for Mac OS X FAQ (see Help) section 9 and adjust your system preferences accordingly. I look forward to your reply and thanks for your help. Best Regards, Wendy [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Please post on R-sig-mac (see the posting guide, footer of this email). They will need to know how you are running R (command-line or R.app) and your language settings.
