MAC R crashes
Dear R-Help Group:
R will not start on my imac running 10.6.2. I installed both R2.10.1 and
2.10.0 from pkg. It crashed on both. I tried both the R and R64 apps and
both versions 2.10.1 and 2.10.0. I googled and found nothing on this.
Below is part of report:

loading a file in R in mac OS X
Hello,
Please forgive me that this question is so basic, but i have not been able
to find a solution in any of the basic R introductions, in the R wiki, or in
the stats textbook i'm using to learn R. I run R on a macintosh, and i have
not been able to load any data files yet. For instance, if I have a data
table in a file called schools.txt on my desktop, i've been trying to load

which() function not finding certain numbers
Hi,
I am using 32-bit R v 2.15.1, on Mac OsX v 10.6.8 with R GUI 1.52 Leopard
build 32-bit (6188). I have also replicated this error on R 2.13.2 on a
windows 7 machine.
In some sequences of numbers, I am unable to use the which() function to
index certain values. It seems to be primarily numbers with a 3 in the
decimal.
For example:
> S=seq(0,4,0.01)
> which(S==2.02)
[1] 203

Hi,
Obviously history() will only work with readline installed: so far I
have not been able to find working advice for installing and enabling
readline on MacOSX.

helps on upgrading R in Mac OS
Dear R-helpers,
I intend to upgrade R in Mac OS with updated R version and updated Mac
OS version.
I think my Mac notebook is produced with Mac x86_64, darwin9.8.0. I
have updated my Mac OS to Mac OS X version 10.6.5. But, when I
installed R 2.12.1, the "version" function still gave me information
that R is based on old Mac OS. I need to know how can I update R to
let it to fit for

quartz.save of the FAQ (Mac)
Hi,
In the FAQ for Mac http://cran.r-project.org/bin/macosx/RMacOSX-FAQ.html
there is
7.2 Saving the image
You can can (???) the content of the quartz device window into a PDF file.
This is not explained!
This is a very simple way to export high quality graphics from R into
other applications on Mac OS X graphics is PDF based (so are almost all
applications available). However, this process

replicate matrix
Hi all,
I have a matrix, for example
[,1] [,2]
[1,] 1 3
[2,] 4 6
I want to replicate the matrix twice and add an extra column at the end,
which is
[,1] [,2] [,3] [,4] [,5] [,6] [,7]
[1,] 1 3 1 3 1 3 2
[2,] 4 6 4 6 4 6 5
I found 'rep' only works for vector. Does anyone know how to replicate a
matrix, and append the matrix?

element-by-element comparison
Hi,
I have a vector and a matrix. For example,
A = [
12
3
4];
B = [
4 13
10 2
4 8];
I am comparing A to each column of B using A>B[,ii], so the expected result
is
C = [
1 0
0 1
0 0];
I am looking for a way to do this quickly instead of going through the for
loop, but haven't had any luck yet? Any advice is appreciated.
Thank you very much.

weighted x variables with glm
I have a glm regression (quasi-poisson) of log(mu) on x but I have varying
degrees of confidence in the x values, and can attach a numerical weighting
to each. Can anyone help me with suggestions of how to analysise this. Is
there an R package that would help?

round up a number to 10^4
Hi all,
I have a list of numbers, e.g., X = c(60593.23, 71631.17, 75320.1), and want
to round them so the output is Y = c(60000, 80000, 80000). I tried
Y<-round(X,-4), but it gives me Y = c(60000, 70000, 80000). Do anybody know
how to round up a number to 10^4?
Thank you in advance.

[RFC LINUX PATCH 0/2] Virtio ring works with DMA coherent memory
RPMsg uses dma_alloc_coherent() to allocate memory to shared with the remote.
In this case, as there is no pages setup in the dma_alloc_coherent(),
we cannot get the physical address back from the virtual address, and thus,
we can set the sg_dma_addr to store the DMA address and mark it already DMA
mapped.
When virtio vring sees the sg_dma_addr is ready set, do not call dma_map_page().
