Can I vote to have this added to rw-FAQ? A colleague and I both ran into this problem recently. It makes sense when you realized what happened, but the cause was not immediately obvious given the symptoms. Strange that it has only emerged as a problem recently. It might be that the old unzip.dll-based unpacking just failed without warning.> > Regards, > Andy > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: ripley at stats.ox.ac.uk [mailto:ripley at stats.ox.ac.uk] > > Sent: Monday, June 24, 2002 10:02 AM > > To: Kenneth Cabrera > > Cc: r-help at stat.math.ethz.ch > > Subject: Re: [R] An "update.packages()" problem? > > > > > > On Mon, 24 Jun 2002, Kenneth Cabrera wrote: > > > > > > > > I try to use "update.packages()" and it works fine, at least the > > > packages download right. > > > But when the packages are done it appears this message: > > > > > > Error in zip.unpack(pkg, lib) : cannot open file > > > C:/rw1051/library/MASS/libs/MASS.dll > > > > > > What am Idoing wrong? Is this a change from earlier versions? I haven't run into this problem prior to version 1.5.1 (Windows). -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- r-help mailing list -- Read http://www.ci.tuwien.ac.at/~hornik/R/R-FAQ.html Send "info", "help", or "[un]subscribe" (in the "body", not the subject !)
