Snipping the beginning off Theora files
...s is poor at low quality levels and Xiph develops Speex specifically for speech, why aren't the audio tracks of conference speeches done in speex instead of Vorbis?? Is this because people are more likely to have Vorbis support than speex at this stage? Surely it would be possible to have something apply the ReplayGain to the WAV after decoding and prior to writing them to CD... but I don't know

Does anyone know of any car Ogg-Vorbis players?
Hello all, There are quite a few of my friends that are looking for new stereos for their cars. They have a large proportion of their music in Ogg-Vorbis format and are having no luck finding anything that is able to support the files. Can anyone offer any suggestions? ...from its niche audience. I believe that would aid statisticians and programmers. However, a little bit more transparency and something beyond a categorical "we just don't like that way of doing things" would go a long way towards growing the base community of R. Guadec 2005 and DirectShow Filters
Hello all, I have been trying to play the Guadec Theora files ( http://stream.fluendo.com/archive/6uadec/ ) on Windows with no success. At first I thought it was just the machine which I was trying it on, but I now have seen another machine play other Theora files (Systm, Ubuntu Below Zero) without problems, but treat Guadec as just being audio files. I do also have another machine here which

Splitting Theora encoding into multiple tasks for Thoggen
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello all, I have been thinking about multiple core processors and how Thoggen (http://www.thoggen.net) encodes DVDs to Ogg-Theora files. I was intending to file a feature request that basically suggested dividing the total size of the target DVD by the number of logical CPUs and encoding each chunk of DVD as a separate task so that encoding could
