[Rails] Cheap Hosting Options? (for Ruby on Rails) Suggestions?
Hi all, Any suggestions re cheap [or free ideally :)] hosting solutions for Ruby on Rails applications. At this stage for me it''s just the ability mainly to learn/play, but at the same time being able to publish the application to internet so friends can use. Thanks -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Hi Greg, dreamhost all the way. IMO. Of course I just set it up on my desktop at home (ubuntu linux). And on my Mac Mini at work. It''s pretty easy to get running with webrick :-D Greg Hauptmann wrote:> Hi all, > > Any suggestions re cheap [or free ideally :)] hosting solutions for Ruby > on Rails applications. > > At this stage for me it''s just the ability mainly to learn/play, but at > the same time being able to publish the application to internet so > friends can use. > > Thanks-- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Greg, I highly recommends RailsPlayground.com Great service (good forum) and quick responses as well as helpful faqs and wiki support. All great when trying to launch. Greg, If you are in Canada, monsterhosting.ca has been good to me. If you do sign up with them I''ll send you a few tips about some questions to ask them. They don''t have svn and that may be something you really want from any hosting company.
