status of autotuning freebsd for 9.2
Andre,
Are you going to have time to MFC things from -current for auto-tuning
-stable before 9.2?
I fear (maybe unnecessarily?) that we are about to ship yet another
release that can't do basic 10gigE when sufficient memory exists.
If you don't have time, then let me know and I'll see what I can do.

SMTPUTF8 support
Andr?, are you quite sure you have it working?
In this thread someone from Open-Xchange stated that no, Dovecot doesn?t
have SMTPUTF8 support implemented, and the same response was given by
another Dovecot developer last September (it ?is being considered? was
the answer then, see
https://dovecot.org/pipermail/dovecot/2018-September/112887.html).

rsync time machine backup permissions
What is the order that rsync uses to set permissions?
Time Machine directories have ACL permissions that basically prohibit making any changes of any kind. In order to make a backup of the directory, you would need to set those permissions after copying everything in the subdirectories.
Is rsync smart enough to do it in that order?

sieve trace directory: error
Hello,
I am using a custom directory for sieve logs and trace and it apparently
generate an error, in some corner case.
- I have an IMAP global sieve script, that is run when appending emails
into the "Archives" folder.
- I have Thunderbird configured to archive emails by year
When archiving an email, for instance in "Archives/2018", I often have
an error message like this:

examples of shared shared-mailboxes.db
Dear Andre,
Thanks for yr reply.
What do i include in the file shared-mailboxes.db ?
As in the input. Is it really plain text ?
So for example i write into the file shared-mailbox.db :-
shared at domain.net
shared2 at domain.net etc...
Is it like that or what kind of syntax needs to be used?

Problem with Windows 7 and roaming profiles
Hello together,
we try to setup a samba domain controller with LDAP and roaming profiles for Win7-Clients.
Everything looks fine last Friday but today the clients did not longer save changes to the profiles. There is no error in samba log and also no in the windows log. If I delete a profile from a client it is loaded correctly at next logon, but the changes are not saved at logout.

Accentuated email addresses stored in LDAP
Hello everyone,
I have successfully set up Dovecot with an LDAP backend, and everything
works like a charm, except one small use case.
I know it is possible, so if anyone knows a solution, thank you!
Basically, I just want to send an email to one of my email address,
which contains an accent, i.e. andr?@homebox.space....
Every other alias works, but not those with accents. They are correctly

nested logon scripts
I Have my users organised in 1: Whole Company, 2: Department, 3: User
I need a logon script that executes certain comments for all users, certain
commands per department and certain comments per user.
For user andre in department sales it would thus execute all.cmd, sales.cmd
and andre.cmd
Is this possible?
(I'm using samba 3.0 as DC with LDAP)

[PATCH 0 of 3] RFC Paging support for AMD NPT V2
...tion. Let me know how
it goes for you.
If I unleash xenpaging on a domain for a non-ambitious target (64 MiBs paged
out for one minute), we sail by just fine. But if I kick things up a notch,
still dying on an VMEXIT_SHUTDOWN (a.k.a. triple fault). Not sure at all what
to do next.

rsync time machine backup permissions
Dear rsync users,
I'm trying to copy my Time Machine Backup from my old USB hard drive to a new one. I got error messages, because rsync don't create group and other permissions.
I use rsync 3.1.3.
Did I use the correct parameters? Who has an idea, what mistake?
Thanks!
Best, André

Linksys SRW224P POE Switch
...he Linksys POE switch for a small Asterisk
office deployment. There will be no separate wiring closet to put it
in. Can anybody tell me if this switch has a loud fan? Users would not
be able to tolerate a loud noise close by. Otherwise we will go with a
fanless desktop switch.
Thanks,

Hi to all!
I?m trying to setup master users, but I have some problems. Namely I can authenticate, but after it I cannot access INBOX or other mailboxes of the user.
My configuration is:

}
passdb {

hosting emails at home
Hello Mike,
Yes, I am using a static IP address, but in theory, you could use a
dynamic one.
Nothing technically would prevent email exchanges between two boxes, as
long as the SPF records are up to date and the DKIM is properly setup.
Unfortunately, some ISPs are simply blacklisting full range of private
IP addresses just because they are not officials / commercials.
Kind regards,
Andr?

[PATCH] RFC: Linux: disable APERF/MPERF feature in PV kernels
Hi,
while testing some APERF/MPERF semantics I discovered that this feature
is enabled in Xen Dom0, but is not reliable.
The Linux kernel''s scheduler uses this feature if it sees the CPUID bit,
leading to costly RDMSR traps (a few 100,000s during a kernel compile)
and bogus values due to VCPU migration during the measurement.
The attached patch explicitly disables this CPU capability
