Xen users - Nov 2009 - how to resolve /lib/modules/2.6.18-xen: No such file or directory error

I executed following after downloading from
http://www.xen.org/products/xen_source.html
the first package
    # make world
    # make install  KERNELS="linux-2.6-xen0 linux-2.6-xenU"
then I executed
  # depmod 2.6.18-xen
an error came
root@tapas-laptop:/usr/src/xen-3.4.2# depmod 2.6.18-xen
WARNING: Couldn''t open directory /lib/modules/2.6.18-xen: No such file
or directory
FATAL: Could not open /lib/modules/2.6.18-xen/modules.dep.temp for
writing: No such file or directory

How can this error be resolved
