how to get xen with a kernel 2.6.27 or above?
Hi list,
I am starting a academic security related project and I was wondering if
there is any documentation on compiling xen/dom0 with a recent kernel?
I''ve seen a few good intentioned threads, but no real documentation so far.
Any helpful pointers will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance,

FATAL: Could not open ''System.map''
Hello all,
I downloaded the linux-2.6.16.16.tar.bz2 (www.kernel.org) and

iscsi boot xen0 initrd
In case it helps anyone, here''s a script I use to boot xen0 over iscsi
with an initrd using linux-iscsi and iscsi-init (both on sourceforge).
Some (or most) of it might be debian (sarge) specific though. The script
goes in /etc/mkinitrd/scripts and puts the bits and pieces in place. It
has to prepend stuff to /script in the resultant initrd so it does a few
funny things. Add your Ethernet

unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.18/misc/zaptel.o
Hi all.
I've been lurking here for a couple weeks just trying to get an idea of
how to install asterisk. I'm running Debian with a custom kernel
version 2.4.18. I think I've got all the dependencies installed -
debian packages readline4 and openssl are installed. It's a very
barebones install with only the packages relevant to building a kernel
and asterisk installed.

How to build xen 3.3.1 and linux-2.6.27-xen.hg from source?
Hello List,
how do i build xen 3.3.1 and linux-2.6.27-xen.hg from source?
Here is what i tried:
----------------------------------------
cd /usr/src
hg clone http://xenbits.xensource.com/ext/linux-2.6.27-xen.hg
cd /usr/src/xen-3.3.1
Then i changed LINUX_VER from 2.6.18 to 2.6.27 in
buildconfigs/mk.linux-2.6-xen. The files mk.linux-2.6-xen0 and
mk.linux-2.6-xenU seem to be obsolete.

how does hypervisor isolates DomU from Dom0
I am not clear with the working of hypervisor xen.
How does an instruction executed by kernel in Ring0 of DomU gets
mapped or executed by hypervisor and then is excuted in Dom0.
Is this thing some where on the wiki page?

Thank you all for you replies!
For anyone following the fedora xen quickstart guide here are the steps
to follow to get your eth0 working.
At rawhide
mkdir /lib/modules/2.6.12-1.1411_FC4xen0
depmod -a
At the domain0
(make sure rawhide is down)
mount -o loop /root/fedora.img /mnt
cd /mnt
cp /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
