Can Dom0 be replaced after installation?
...it on Dom0 do I need to recompile kernels on the other guests?
3. I keep expecting to need to install the hypervisor somewhere. I
don''t see the hypervisor anywhere in Gentoo, but there''s xen-sources
which I suspect contains it. Or do I need the tarball from
www.xen.org/products/xen_source.html?
4. In my understanding the dom0 needs to be extremely stable and have
good driver support. What distro works best for that? I''m currently
using Gentoo, but I would think Debian would be most stable. If so, is
the current difficulty with Debian an unhappy coincidence or is it

Hello,
I''m running Ubuntu 8.04 server that I''ve been testing out using LVM based
xen virtual servers. The install went as it should, then I made my first

VT-d support in HVM?
Hi,
I''ve recently setup a few machines with 3.2 64bit without any unresolvable problem.
These machines all run pv domU''s and a view "basic" hvm domUs.
As I''ve got one machine left for internal use and testing, I would like to take a
look at pciback with VT-d support (bios screen shows a VT-d [enable|disable]).
My question is, do I need to add patches, or use

how to get xen with a kernel 2.6.27 or above?
Hi list,
I am starting a academic security related project and I was wondering if
there is any documentation on compiling xen/dom0 with a recent kernel?
I''ve seen a few good intentioned threads, but no real documentation so far.
Any helpful pointers will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance,

ntpd under Xen Dom0 exhibits extremely high jitter/noise? runs stable/quiet under non-xen kernel.
On a selection of boxes, ntpd running in Xen Dom0 reproducibly
exhibits extermely high noise/jitter.
Switching back to -default, non-xen kernel ntpd runs with very low jitter/noise.
Question -- how can I ''tame'' ntpd noise & jitter when running in Dom0?
Is the problem a config issue, or a bug?
Already reported this downstream; everybody''s "stumped".
