Trying to install them on Xen 3.4.0, Intel E5345 Processors, Server 2008 64bit. I get the BSoD on boot with the 0x0000007B stop message. I''ve got a bunch of 2003 32bits running on the same host with the 0.10.0.69 drivers and those are totally happy. I tried the boot once with NOGPLPV idea mentioned in another thread, that didn''t do the trick. Ideas anyone? pace _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

You can either wait a while (upwards of 5-10 minutes sometimes), or go into device manager and select scan for devices, that usually installs the rest of the drivers. Please let me know how it goes. The driver that started with the "!" was the SCSI driver. When I told device manager to scan again, it complained that the Xen PCI Driver could not be loaded, but it did clear the "!" on the SCSI driver. pace _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Re: [Xen-users] GPLPV 0.10.0.69 Blue Screen 0x0000007B
Not sure which dom0 you''re using, but I know at least on a NetBSD dom0 using xen 3.3.1nb6, The Xen PCI driver in GPLPV blue screens every version of Windows I throw at it. Not sure if the other pieces of GPLPV work or not, since they all rely on the PCI device :). -Dustin On Mon, Jun 22, 2009 at 5:07 PM, Mark Pace<pace@jolokianetworks.com> wrote:> James Harper wrote: >> Sometimes when you install it, it doesn''t install all the drivers and so >> fails to boot next time. >> >> You can either wait a while (upwards of 5-10 minutes sometimes), or go >> into device manager and select scan for devices, that usually installs >> the rest of the drivers. >> >> Please let me know how it goes. >> >> James >> > Device manager scan found the Xen PCI driver that was upset (market with > yellow "!"), but that didn''t fix the boot problem. > > > pace > > _______________________________________________ > Xen-users mailing list > Xen-users@lists.xensource.com > http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users >_______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
Using a Centos 5.3 Dom0. GPLPV 0.10.0.69 is working on the same host in 32 bit Server 2003, Server 2008, and XP, haven''t tried any other 64 bit Windows on that host. pace Dustin Marquess wrote:> Not sure which dom0 you''re using, but I know at least on a NetBSD dom0 > using xen 3.3.1nb6, The Xen PCI driver in GPLPV blue screens every > version of Windows I throw at it. That will most likely be due to the driver signing requirements with that OS, and I don''t have a solution at this point, although a few have been suggested on the -users and -devel lists. Something like windows failed to load because of unsigned driver, using the same font as boot menu (i.e. not the blue screen) -- Fajar _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Same BSoD as when I go in and tell the system to boot without the driver signing requirements (but I don''t have to select that at boot). Still want the windbg? Should I try the 0.9x series of drivers? pace _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Basically Windows will just try and load all the drivers that are marked as ''required for boot'', and then find a device to boot off. Xenvbd will fail to load because it''s not signed, but as far as windows is concerned, that doesn''t necessarily mean that the system is unbootable. It''s only when it later can''t find a disk to boot off that it throws an 0x7B. Output from windbg might be helpful though... Should I try the 0.9x > series of drivers?A wild guess, but are you using tap:qcow on domU config by any chance? What happens when you change "viridian" setting on domU config (i.e. if it''s 1, change it to 0, and vice versa. If it''s not there, put viridian=1)? -- Fajar _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
