GPLPV xennet bsod when vcpu>15
Hello, I installed the signed drivers from http://wiki.univention.de/index.php?title=Installing-signed-GPLPV-drivers and I ran into a BSOD on a Windows 2008 Server R2 Enterprise domU with a large number of vcpu''s. The BSOD is related to xennet.sys. After some trials I found that it runs fine up to 15 cores. From 16 or more, the BSOD kicks in when booting the domU. The hardware (4 times X7550) runs Xen version 4.1.2_05-1.1....

ATI/AMDs atikmpag.sys BSOD while vga passthrough
Hi everyone since I''m currently migrating from xm to xl and now are also a victim of the said error, I started researching on it and found that many people had the issue but not many found solution and behind this BSOD (=Bluescreen of Death), there are actually multiple errors in hiding. What I would like to do is gather as much info as possible in this thread to form a kind of comprehensive guide to fixing this issue. From what i gathered so far, there are at least 3 different problems with the same symptopms....

PV 0.9.12pre3 gives BSOD when installing in VM in Xenserver 5.
Hello, I have Xenserver 5.0. When i install a new VM with Windows Server 2003 X64 Standard (R2) and install all windows-updates, it gives me a BSOD when i install the PV 0.9.12pre3 drivers. Steps to reproduce: - Install Xenserver 5 (light/free or Enterprise/trial) - Install a Windows Server 2003 x64 R2 VM from a ISO or CD - Install all windows updates - Download the GPLPV 0.9.12pre3 .exe file to the desktop and double-click it. - First it...

Xen Windows Clients - BSOD with Application Firewall Installs
...indows 2000 Server clients on Xen under Centos 5.1 and am unable to install an application firewall. I have tried the latest: 1) Agnitum Outpost Commercial Version 2) Comodo Firewall (ver 2 on Windows 2000) 3) Sunbelt Commercial Version With all of these when the firewall starts up it results in a BSOD. With Windows XP and Agnitum I can go back to a previous system restore point, with Windows 2000 and other firewalls on XP the only option is a backup of the Xen client as even a save mode command prompt startup results in a BSOD. I have tried on the Windows XP install using various HALS and switc...

Windows 2008 R2 64 bit BSoD
...I don''t know if this is normal or not. More reboots do nothing, they stay that way. The exclamation mark error is "This device cannot start. (Code 10)". I''ve got two hard disks and a DVD ISO attached to the VM. So when I try to boot without /NOGPLPV I get the 0x0000007b BSoD. Rebooting directly from installation without /NOGPLPV produces a BSoD, too (I wasn''t sure and tested it both ways). Uninstalling the drivers, cleaning with the .bat for 0.10 and installing them again allows the system to boot without /NOGPLPV, but those two devices still have the exclamat...

Re: RE: Re: BSOD "A clock interrupt was not recevied onasecondary processor within the allocated time interval"
yes, the cause of BSOD 0x101 is that watchdog time interrupt was not received by the vcpu in a certain timeout in Windows kernel . this is taken place especially in vista kernel. Generally speaking, we have some ways to fix this, one is that we an write a programme whitch can intercept the trigger of BSOD 0x101, on the o...

BSOD with ESS under win2000
I have had a visit from our windows buddy the BSOD twice in one day when running R1.6.2 under ESS5.1.24 on a win2000 platform. I wasn't doing anything special, just moving or resizing the emacs window, although I did have 4 or 5 emacs windows open at the time. Has anyone else observed this problem? Thanks, Darryl.

VGA passthrough nVidia NVS 295
...I got to work is the device showing up under Windows 7, with all resources and whatnot. I''ve applied the vga-loadbios patch and vBAR-pBAR patch to xen, and the vBAR-pBAR patch to qemu-dm. This behaviour isn''t stable though. Sometimes I can log on and then domU crashes with a BSoD (nvlddmkm.sys). Sometimes I can log on and actually do something. But certain operations, like changing display options or checking device manager details cause a BSoD. The NVS 295 is based on a G98, which isn''t to dissimilar from Eming''s GeForce 8400GS. He only states he used...

W2K BSOD: Memory errors
...n several errors by now and I've written some down: PFN_LIST_CORRUPT, MEMORY_MANAGEMENT, UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP, etc. All involve the memory. So the obvious conclusion is that my memory is fried. However, I've played numerous games, used tons off programs, and none has ever triggered a BSOD. I'd say (from my limited insight in this) that CPU and memory intensive tasks like compression (RAR, 7zip) and compilation of software should trigger these same errors?! Am I wrong here? I've even tried encoding other audio formats like mp3, ogg and ape to see if the problem really isn'...

Strange Problem with Windows GPLPV Drivers
...lem with these drivers. I have a host that has 31 VM''s running on it, all windows. They are running the same template, which has the latest GPLPV drivers installed. The problem occurred today when I went to add the 32nd VM, again from the same template. Now when the VM boots up I get a BSOD. I tried a different template to confirm that it was not template corruption, again BSOD on boot. Booting into safe mode works fine, so that led me to believe it could be driver related. I then performed a fresh install of windows from ISO, and that worked fine, UNTIL I installed the GP...

Windows 2003 BSOD, 0X0000007B bug
...nt upgrades solved many ssh issues https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1167774, and conversion seems OK now. The server I converted is now booting and running fine every time. I used the very same procedure on two others 2003 servers (one in x86 and one in 64 bits), and both are showing BSOD and the very well known 0x...7B bug. As it is a very known bug, I tried all that is available on earth to try to cope with it : - before P2V, log as local admin, merge the mergeide.reg into the registry, reboot, then halt and P2V - before P2V, boot and install the different libraries viostor, n...

F14->F16 Upgrade Results in Win2003 Server Client BSOD 0x7f
Hello, I upgraded my kvm server from Fedora 14 to Fedora 16 and the only casualty was a Windows 2003 Server client that will no longer boot with and produces a BSOD. I admittedly know very little about Windows and this VM has been around - real hardware -> Parallels on a Mac -> linux kvm but it was working fine under Fedora 14. The client does boot fine under safe mode but anything higher than that (even safe mode with networking) results in the BSOD. I&...

Windows GPLPV xenvbd.sys BSOD
Hi, During the install of the univention.de-signed GPLPV drivers (gplpv_Vista2008x64_signed_0.11.0.308.msi) on my Windows 7 guest, I get a BSOD "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" in xenvbd.sys. Afterwards, Windows won''t start. I''m now trying to do a System Restore. I will try not installing the VBD driver afterwards and see if the others do work. GPLPV BSOD following block-attach

Subsequently, the domU started with the 0x...7B BSOD in normal/safe mode even with /nogpl Would you happen to have any magic incantations to make windows play nice? Do I have to externally edit the registry to strip UpperFilters, or perhaps use a repair install? Thanks, Steve _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list X...

Xen 4.2.1. Intel Integrated VGA passthrough. BSOD in Windows guests.
Hello, I configured xen with enabled passthrough primary VGA card (Intel Integrated graphic controller HD 3000) and audio controller (Intel HD audio) to hvm guest. I also installed GPLPV drivers to improve performance. And it works for Windows XP (x86) and Windows 7 (x86_64). But I get a BSOD, when I try to load a disk or network subsystem or start Windows 7 performance test. Steps to reproduce 1) enable PCI passthrough and pass primary VGA card 2) Try to copy a large file (3G for example) over the network into guest. ( or try to install large application) Symptoms: 1) A graphical artif...

XP x64 will hang/bsod when using mapped network drive
Hi, I have a very strange problem with a new Windows XP Professional x64 client machine which will either hang or BSOD when I manipulate (move, copy, compress) a file on a mapped network drive BUT not when I navigate to the file through My Network Places i.e. selecting WORKGROUP -> FILESERVER -> Share2 -> Directory -> File. I have a mix of Windows PCs on my network including Win2K, WinXP (32-bit) which...
