You have a rare processor, which is the Dual Core Opteron for socket 939 (Denmark core). AFAIK no socket 939 AMD processors support AMD-V and all other multicore Opterons do. i try another xen experiance on a AMD-Opteron 165 processor, but this happens: VmError: HVM guest support is unavailable: is VT/AMD-V supported by your CPU and enabled in your BIOS? cat /proc/cpuinfo: processor : 0 vendor_id : AuthenticAMD cpu family : 15 model : 35 model name : Dual Core AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 165 stepping : 2 cpu MHz : 1000.000 cache size : 1024 KB physical id : 0 siblings : 2 core id : 0 cpu cores : 2 apicid : 0 initial apicid : 0 fpu : yes fpu_exception : yes cpuid level : 1 wp : yes flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush mmx fxsr sse sse2 ht syscall nx mmxext fxsr_opt lm 3dnowext 3dnow rep_good nopl pni lahf_lm cmp_legacy bogomips : 2249.99 TLB size : 1024 4K pages clflush size : 64 cache_alignment : 64 address sizes : 40 bits physical, 48 bits virtual power management: ts fid vid ttp so the same for core id 1 ? i think this processor has AMD-V support. the mainboard is asus a8v-deluxe with no bios option like ''switch on/off VT'' ? any one a idea? _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

There''s an entire line of them for single-socket, dual-socket, and even 4-socket motherboards. However, none of the 2nd Gen Opterons support SVM. These use socket 939/940. All 3rd Gen Opterons support SVM. These all have 4-digit model numbers. And they use socket AM2/AM2+/AM3. -- Freddie Cash fjwcash@gmail.com _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
