It was originally intended that >4GB machines (entire server) only would
be supported on 64bit machines. However, a handful of people have been
working on incorporating PAE extensions to allow this on 32 bit x86. See
http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-devel/2005-05/msg00660.html
and do a search on the list for pae for additional info.
The 64 bit support is in the latest unstable tree, and is supposed to be
stable when xen 3.0 is released. Only 64 bit guests are slated to be
supported (at least initially) but a linux distros with 64 bit kernels
can run 32bit apps without a problem.
