[Wine] Screen (not OS) cannot handle Steam Game: "Out of Range"
I tried installing the demo for Psychonauts through Steam. When I try to run it, the sound works fine, but the screen says the display is out of range. It's an HD screen at 1080p, so it's unlikely that Psychonauts would require a better resolution. I'm on Kubuntu with a quad core i5 and 4G RAM and an ATI graphics card. Some other apps work fine on Wine. I recently played Dreamfall. I tried running Psychonauts in a windowed Wine, but not only did it not start but after that (it may have been something else but still...) no program could use the graphical interface. Even the logout or shut down menus from KDE were malfunctioning. CLI programs worked fine. Again, the "out of range" message comes from the screen, not the OS. I've never seen anything like it; and it's especially unexpected from an HD screen. Does anyone know what might cause a Windows app so make my screen go "out of range"?

[Wine] Re: Screen (not OS) cannot handle Steam Game: "Out of Range
X11 server setting wrong. Wine only changes to screen modes X.org the normal X11 Server tells it that it can use. Out of range message is one it selected the screen does not support. This is not a wine bug. Any program than started flicking threw resultions could have caused this.
