wine users - Oct 2010 - Wine through NX (mouse slow)

I'm using Ubuntu 10.4, and running Nomachine (NX) and Ultima Online via
Wine. It seems to run fine except the mouse is so sluggish it is unusable.

Is there any way to tune this or am I just expecting too much from the software?

This is through a ssh tunnel, via the Internet. Locally it works well.

Anything VNC-like will be slow in this setup. It transfers bitmaps...
