NoMachine Makes OpenSSH Win32 Port Available
Hi all, We are happy to inform you that we have made available a Win32 port of OpenSSH. We have also created a dedicated area on our website along with the relevant build and installation instructions: http://www.nomachine.com/contributions.php. While still in the early stages and requiring a little more evolvement, the port includes both the client and the server and implements a majority of the functionalities found in the original code. As per the OpenSSH development standards, we have added the portability code...

opennx wants to replace nxclient on all my CentOS 6 servers
...ilable which will obsolete nxclient. I went ahead and upgraded on my laptop but the resulting opennx installation didn't launch properly. I'm now modifying my yum configurations everywhere to add exclude=opennx Without diving into the merits of whether I should be using nxclient from nomachine.com or the open-source opennx, I'm concerned that I ended up with a broken NX client and I don't remember seeing an announcement that this software package was added to extras. Is that information communicated via a mailing list that perhaps I'm not subscribed to? thanks, Greg

Can't get past the splash screen
Hi, I have a remote frontend (it's kept in the room which I don't have access) which is installed with CentOS 4 and Rocks . So, to use the desktop(Gnome) of the frontend I use the freenx + nomachine following the guide in http://www.centos.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?forum=20&topic_id=1640&viewmode=threaded. It worked. Then, I intended to add user, but I couldn't create the home folder in /home/ for the new user. After browsing, I found that somebody mentioned it's because...

Problems with x2go
I have installed x2goserver on a Centos8 server. Yesterday, after the installation I was able to connect by means of x2go. Today I get the following error ( /var/log/messages) /usr/bin/x2gostartagent[2677]: no free display number available, cannot start new session. Has anyone had the same problem? Thanks. Bye Stefano

FreeNX : forward audio from server to client ?
Hi, I setup a FreeNX server with a GNOME desktop, and I can access it from a client with the NoMachine client. Everything is running fine, and now I only have two problems left : audio and printing forwarding. I'll follow the "only-slay-one-dragon-at-a-time" rule and take care of audio first. Did anyone manage to forward sound with FreeNX ? Here, server and client are using CentOS....

x2go (vs. freenx)?
Is anyone using x2go on Centos - and if so, is there any reason to think about switching from freenx? The old NX client for mac was a powerpc binary and is no longer supported under mountain lion - and their new alpha release crashed my mac after an OSX update so I'm curious if there is anything better around. (And I didn't like the way the new mac version changed the screen scaling

Mac client to freenx?
Now that Mac lion/mountain lion versions of OSX don't support the old powerpc binaries like the NX 3.5 client any more, what is the best approach to connect to freenx on Centos - the new 'nxplayer' from nomachine.com, opennx, or something else? Google seems to show mixed opinions and quirks with each. -- Les Mikesell lesmikesell at gmail.com

R or C++ on FreeNX servers
Hi all, I have just found out that the machine learning group in our Faculty has a lot of spare capacity on their FreeNX servers. I do not know a lot about these beasts but I understand that they are a free version of something produced by a firm called "NoMachine". They are designed for executing parallel algorithms and I thought that they might be of use in a project of mine comparing different model-fitting algorithms from the point of view of sensitivity to starting values. Anyway before revealing my near-total ignorance to my computer science...

FreeNX documentation and other miscellanea
...an change that) which sort of tells me that when I first loaded freenx/nxagent, port 3000 was already in use so it probably adjusted itself but upon reboot, nxagent got all comfortable in port 3000 before I logged in and tried to start webrick in rails... So I wandered through the documentation on NoMachine.com but that doesn't really cover the nxagent and in checking out /etc/nxserver/node.conf.sample, it refers to documentation in !M which means absolutely nothing to me whatsoever. I do see that there are some options that might be interesting such as remote printing - and now that I enabled re...

freenx
...FreeNX. Errors occured during config check. Please correct the configuration file. The libraries are definitely not where nx looks for them - they are located at /usr/lib64/NX/lib (and symlinks under (usr/lib/NX/lib). What is going wrong here? I also tried to use nxconfig with --setup- nomachine-key with the same results, except that I did not need to import the key in the nxclient anymore. Does anyone has an idea to solve the problem? Many thanks for help Michael
