I am trying to get Wine configured to run on my new Core i3 system. I'm using the integrated graphics that come on the Clarkdale platform but none of my games/apps detect it correctly. Everything detects it as a GeForce 5600, which it, of course, is not. I managed to correct the amount of video memory, but I can't get Wine to pass on the correct device information. Any thought?
We fake the videocard information since there is no good of way of obtaining all the info we need (which includes the pci id, windows driver version and some more). Some common cards are in our database. The GPU name is not very important (a few games really care about it typically for hacks or performance presets). The issues you are seeing are likely just driver bugs which prevent you from running most games.
