Notes stress-tests Wine, Wine stress-tests Compiz, Compiz stress-tests the video driver and the driver stress-tests X ... it's just the way to get the really *interesting* bugs to show themselves %-D - d.

Try this with Compiz turned off and see if the bug goes away. If so, the bug is in Compiz. If not, then the bug is either in Wine, X or your video drivers. James McKenzie
