Since wine-1.2-rc2, the wine fonts have not been working correctly. They are all smudged up, and text in certain applications is very hard to read. Here is a wine-1.2-rc4 screenshot: [Image: http://img63.imageshack.us/img63/9437/screenshot5da.png ] Here is a wine-1.2-rc1 screenshot: [Image: http://img695.imageshack.us/img695/4447/screenshot6k.png ] I'd love to use the new version but the font problem is preventing me from doing so. Any clue on how to revert back to the rc1 fonts? I'm on Slackware Linux 13.
The difference is that Wine now uses the system settings for subpixel font smoothing (but 17148, fixed in 1.2-rc2). A couple of bugs have been filed related to the change: http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=23006 http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=23114
