wine users - May 2010 - Can't find any programs???

OK, I'm running Windows XP, with various programs installed.  I have a dual
boot with Ubuntu 10.04.  Wine is installed and I have Notepad working just
great.  I can  browse C: but can't find any of my programs except Internet
Explorer, which I obviously don't want to use.

So, what did I do wrong?

The C: drive you are browsing is not your Windows partition, it is Wine's
fake C: drive. You need to install your programs in Wine.
