wine users - Dec 2008 - font problem? special characters not appearing...

Hi, when I run this bridge learning program in Wine, it looks like this:

when it should look like this:

So, the spade/heart/diamond/club symbols are missing. They are special
characters in the font though (not bitmaps), and the symbols show up in
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contract_bridge so it would seem that the font
(Arial, I think) does have the symbols.  Does anyone know how I can have the
symbols show up?  I'm running wine-1.0.1 on Ubuntu 8.10 and have the
msttcorefonts package installed.

Wine doesn't come with a symbol font.
You can work around it by copying in the one from windows.

Thanks - I installed symbol.ttf and it works now.
