Vorbis - Apr 2005 - Ogg Vorbis DirectShow status ?

Hi!

What is the status of DirectShow support (read: playy vorbis in Windows
Media Player 9 or 10 ) ?

The vorbis.com web pages only link to some ancient web pages (xwmedia and
tobias).

I remember there was a wiki page about setting this up (partially written by
me),
but can't find it any more.

Was the idea of playing ogg/vorbis in DS applications dropped ?

The best option we have these days are Zen's filter set from 

   http://illiminable.com/ogg/

The support all of the official Xiph codecs, and work well for most 
people. I'd suggest giving them a try.

Sadly so. It would be nice if one of our webmasters would update those 
pages...

The Radlight Filters (http://www.oggmedia.info/) are pretty good.  I've 
been using them for while and like them quite a bit.  Very stable, and 
about half the download size of the Illiminable ones.

Here is the site's description of it:
"RadLight Ogg Media DirectShow filter enables playback of Ogg and OGM 
files in any DirectShow based player (tested with Windows Media Player 
and RadLight 4 <http://www.radlight.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=873>). 
It also comes with its own Ogg Vorbis & Speex (audio) and Theora (video) 
DirectShow decoder filters."
