Project announcement : opensource Vorbis DirectShow decoder filter
Hi, i have the pleasure to announce that a start was undertaken to be able to replace the 2 existing closed source Ogg Vorbis DirectShow filters for Windows. The Corecodec team around their main DirectShow developer, Christophe 'Toff' Paris, has released the sourcecode for a working and tested Vorbis DirectShow filter on the Corecodec.org opensource community. http://corecodec.org/projects/corevorbis The code is releas...

Ogg Vorbis DirectShow status ?
Hi! What is the status of DirectShow support (read: playy vorbis in Windows Media Player 9 or 10 ) ? The vorbis.com web pages only link to some ancient web pages (xwmedia and tobias). I remember there was a wiki page about setting this up (partially written by me), but can't find it any more. Was the idea of playing ogg/vorbis...

Connect Theora DirectShow encoder filter to decoder filter
Hi all, This may sound like a weird problem, but I am trying to create a DirectShow graph (using the Theora DirectShow filters from http://www.illiminable.com/ogg/) where I have a video source, which is connected to the Theora encoder, which is then connected to a Theora decoder. The problem is that this doesn't seem to work, those filters refuse to connect to each other....

OGG/Vorbis DirectShow
Hi! On http://www.vorbis.com/software.psp?pid=2 ( Other Vorbis software for windows ) there is a link called "Ogg Vorbis DirectShow Filters" pointing to http://sf.net/projects/mediaxw That project is dead ! But there is another vorbis DS project at http://tobias.everwicked.com/oggds.htm , which is actively developed. How about updating the vorbis.com page to point to this DS-vorbis page ? Or is there another "offici...

Further bug discovered with the Directshow decoder
Hi good people, Just to inform: I finally fed FFMpeg2Theora with a .VOB input, and the .OGV output produced played back beautifully in VLC, both audio and video. However, the same output .OGV file gave clicks and pops in the audio when fed through Directshow programs. I played it through Windows Mediaplayer as well as through Winamp, with the same crackles in the audio, and this leads me to assume the problem might be directshow-dependent, especially since VLC plays the audio crisp and clean. Through Directshow both in Winamp and Windows MediaPlayer,...

Directshow in wine
Hello I'm trying to make a video subtitling program (my own) run on Wine, and mostly i have succesfully gotten it up and running, everything seems to be working apart from the cruicial video part. The video part of the application is running directshow and Wines implementation of Directshow seems to be severely lacking, so my question is: Is anybody working on that part of wine? or should i simply try and get it to run with VLC as Videorenderer? I'm asking this question as nothing seems to have happened on that part of Wine when i last checke...

Directshow filters
I am looking into switching a DirectShow based application to opus. Does anyone know of opus DirectShow encoder/decoder filters? (preferably under a BSD like license). Seems like LAV[1] supports opus but I am looking for something simpler than a mega-filter. Regards, HC [1] - https://code.google.com/p/lavfilters/ -------------- next pa...

Theora DirectShow component questions - help!
I followed the directions on the Theora website to download the .ax file and the Visual Studio project to build the DLL. I then registered the ax file using the regsvr32 tool. Then I started up the DirectShow tool called 'GraphEdit' where you can see all the installed DirectShow filters and create the filter graphs. In the list of all DS filters, I could find the following 3 filters: Source Splitter Video Decoder The source seems the be the filter to open and read an already Theora encoded f...

Ogg Vorbis DirectShow decoder filter - ongoing development ?
Hi, ome of you may know me, i am one of the project admins of a video related opensource project. For playback of Vorbis audio tracks in movies, if being played on M$ via DirectShow, we are currently using the Vorbis decoder filter from Tobias Waldvogel. However, we found out that this decoder filter is not acting DirectShow compliant with respect to handling of timestamps. When passing the data from the Ogg/OGM parser/splitter filter this is no issue as both are probably...

DirectShow PushSource with theora encoder and Ogg muxer filters
Hi all, I am trying to test DirectShow PushSource example from the SDK with Theora encoder and Ogg muxer (DirectShow filters of course) by using GraphEdit tool. My goal is capturing the screen as video by taking snaphot bitmaps continuosly (what PushSource eaxmple does) and giving them to the Theora encoder through the DS pipeline (next...

DirectShow Theora Issue with RGB24
Hi, I hope you can help, I am in need of some assistance with the DirectShow filters for Theora. I have successfully created a working capture graph using OGG / Vorbis / Theora, however, when I add a Sample Grabber Directshow filter between the FFDShow decoder and Theora Encoder, this results in the video file being mirrored vertically. I have noticed that the original Ca...

Ogg DirectShow Filters are searching for a new maintainer
Sorry for the heavy cross-posting, but this is important. Zen Kavanaugh, who used to develop the Ogg DirectShow filters (see http://www.illiminable.com/ogg/) has crossed over to commercial life and is now working at Microsoft where he is not allowed to continue working on open source media technology. It's congratulations to Zen - but the DirectShow filters are now searching for a new maintainer. If you...

Theora Directshow Filter
The first release of a theora decode filter for directshow is available. Still no doubt buggy as hell... but it can now play all my limited collection of test videos ok. Alpha 3 vids only. See the already known bugs on the page. www.illiminable.com/ogg/ Enjoy, Zen. <p><p>--- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg proje...

Theora streaming from windows
...rver that several people in Louisville use for audio streaming. A number of people have expressed an interest in video streaming through it, too, but cringe when I talk about setting up a linux server for streaming. Has anyone managed to get streaming working from Windows media encoder using the directshow plug ins? I'd like to be able to tell people they can encode the stream on a windows box and send it to our icecast server for broadcasting, but I have never been able to get the directshow filters to work.

Strange results encoding with latest ffmpeg2theora-0.24 and playback on Directshow through Winamp
...r using the Optimize parameter, and an output file is not specified, the encoder does not automatically assume the same input Filename.avi to output Filename.ogv. Also, in order to playback using Winamp, I installed the Ogg Codec from the download page, and added the .ogv extension to Winamp's Directshow input plugin's extension list. The playback of the files, whether or not I play them in Mediaplayer, Winamp or another player, produces a very distorted audio playback, which sounds more like audio distortion of chipmunks through an overdrive guitar filter, (for lack of a better description). T...

DirectShow filter for Speex
Hi, I've had many requests in the past for a Speex DirectShow filter. Well, the wait is now over, thanks to Jean-Francois Emond. Both source and binaries are available from the "Other software" page (http://www.speex.org/projects.html). Bear in mind that for now, only a subset of Speex features are supported (8 kHz, 15 kbps). For those who would li...
