Problems with E100P
Hi,
I'm having trouble configuring and E1 link , I know the E1 is a PRI
and the switchtype is 5ess. The problem is that everytime I try to dial
I got and error saying that it was unable to open the zap channel .
Devices are created in the /dev/zap directory and I can open them with a
cat /dev/zap/1. I can also see the channels in /proc/zaptel/1.
Thanks in advance

[asterik-users] Installing PRI card
Hi,
We have got a new PRI card at one of our Office locations and now I need to
install the the device on a remote server. Is there any way to know if the
device is loaded already.
When I give " cat /proc/zaptel/* " it returns the following.

FXS port doesn't provide dialtone
Hello everyone,
I want to connect a fax to an FXS port (TDM420P). For testing purposes,
I connected an analogue phone to it first. However, when I pick it up, I
cannot hear anything at all.
The power cable is plugged into the card, the port is configured to use
fxo-signalling. Also, immediate=no. Here's the files:
/etc/zaptel.conf:

Voicemail Sequence Bug?
I have a user, running CVS a/o 11/23/03, who has complained about
"phantom" messages showing up days or even weeks after she has deleted them.
So I asked her to let me know when it happened again, and she called a
few minutes ago.
The directory listing below shows a listing of the
/var/spool/asterisk/voicemail/default/XXXX/Old directory, and to my
surprise the messages are indeed

Unable to create channel of type 'Zap' with ecmg2 and kernel 2.6.23
Hi,
I have a working Asterisk 1.2 server on kernel 2.6.22
with the OSLEC echo canceller on a Digium PRI card.
I recently switched to kernel 2.6.23 with the MG2 echo
canceller (nothing else changed). Each time I try to
establish a call on the PRI line I get a congestion
signal.

interop problem: "Missing handling for mandatory IE 24 (cs0, Channel Identification)"
Hi everybody,
I've connected Asterisk 1.2.5 (libpri 1.2.2, zaptel 1.2.4, Linux 2.6.13.2) to
an Avaya-Tenovis PBX via a PRI/E1-line. Calls from SIP-phones via * to the
PBX work fine. However, incoming calls to * only result in:

XXX Missing handling for mandatory IE 24 (cs0, Channel Identification) XXX

which seems to be an * problem, because a Windows-fax-machine works fine on a

i've got some problems getting a E1 line with a E100P up and

French PRI channel - exact signaling used
hello,
We encountered signaling problem with a french national carrier.
They ask us, which signaling is configured on our single E1.
I need to know if it's ETSI, VN4 or VN6.
I know what ccs, and hdb3 mean but I do not succeed to make the link
between the signaling type.
I searched through RFC Q.921 and Q.931
It would be great to obtain some help.

Everything was working fine until I upgraded to zaptel 1.2.12 from 1.2.9
Now when I run ztcfg I get the following error message:
(CAS signalling on span 2 conflicts with Clear channel on channel 40)
