polycom 500 help!!
Hi, I'm just setting up my first Asterisk box. So far everything is working fine. I have the digium card in and connected to a regular telco line. The Asterisk box answers the line and goes through the demo voicemail functions. Sounds great! I bought a Polylcom ip500 phone. I can't seem to get it to "register" with the Asterisk box. Can anybody give me some clues as

Two companies - One Asterisk???
We have two small business that run out of our office. One business has 3 phone lines, and the other has only one. In a perfect world, Asterisk would indicate WHICH line (or group) the outsider caller called, so that we would know which way to answer the phone. The incoming calls would go through a voice mail menu first - different for each company. (Press one for sales, two for

2 companies - one asterisk
I have working with a polycom IP500 phone. I like the idea of having each line button on the phone as a separate sip device. If I understand it right, each phone could have three extensions (one for each line.) This would be great since I could then use the dialplan to forward calls to the desired extension. I envision something like this: Extenson 101 - Company-A Extension 102 - Company B

Re: Two companies - One Asterisk
Dean - > if you are having these troubles and everyone keeps advising you to use > asterisk@home why aren't you doing this? Not to be rude, but I believe you are the only one who suggested he use asterisk@home. asterisk@home is a great (actually stupendous) product for those that want to have a PBX with a GUI up and running within a few minutes. It does not, however, force users

Re: Two companies - One Asterisk
Because you learn how asterisk works by looking at the AMP dial plan fast. With phpconfig you have the ability to view each of the aspects and learn a lot faster than reading the wiki. It also gives you an understanding on how a professional dial plan should be laid out. If he doesn't even understand how to do grouping he obviously hasn't even read the most basic sections of the wiki.

cat 5 'joiner'? (polycom 500 problem)
What gives with the stupid stupid power system on the Polycom IP500 (I hope they changed it on the 501's). Anyway, does anyone know if you can get some type of joiner to connect two Cat5 cables together, and will this affect the call/signal quality because my Ethernet cable is longer than the dumb 11ft polycom supply (oh and their manual is the wrong about which end goes into the handset

MWI not working on Polycom Phones
Hi All - I'm running version SIP version 1.3.4 on various IP300, IP500, and IP600 Polycom phones. I'm having a tough time with MWI. I thought I remembered somebody on the list saying that they had it working, but I can't find it in the archives now. I have all the phones configured for MWI as specified in the WIKI: ipdmid.cfg: up.oneTouchVoiceMail="1"

Can't get Polycom auto-answer to work
Hi All - I'm trying to implement the auto-answer config from the wiki, but the result for me is that the phone just rings as normal. I'm running firmware version 1.4.1 on an IP500. I've added the following to my sip.cfg: <alertInfo voIpProt.SIP.alertInfo.2.value="Ring Answer" voIpProt.SIP.alertInfo.2.class="4"/> and this to my ipmid.cfg

Re: IP-500 config
Thanks, I got everything to load via ftp. The phone appears to correctly boot from the config files. I also put the latest firmware there and the phone sucessfully loaded it. For some reason, the phone and * don't see each other. This is the part that confuses me. Any clues as to why the phone won't register? -N Jason Brown wrote: > K. Now ere are the configs, minus the

POLYCOM IP 500 Setup
Hello, I just wiped out my old asterisk install and installed Asterisk at Home. I was quickly able to get my Digium TDM422P working, 2 POTS lines, 2 phones. I also got X-Lite working as a SIP extension. I then tried to setup my Polycom IP 500, and this was not so easy... Using AMP I created SIP extension 205 to be used with my Polycom phone. I setup username = 205, secret = 123, context =

Polycom IP600 - Flashing clock and date?
Hello, I have configured my polycom ip600 and ip500. The phone works well. But the clock is wrong and flashes the whole time. Drives me nuts! I have set the time offset on the DHCP / boot server. 36000 (I'm in Australia!) It doesn't seem to help... Mike

Polycom IP 600 - 1.3.1
I am getting to my wits end with these phones (and so is my boss). I am getting an random echo on these phones and I have an issue opened with Polycom and its been in their research and development department for almost a month with no results. I have noticed that I get a message "RFC3389 support incomplete. Turn off on client if possible" in asterisk. I have researched this and made
