troubleshooting echo on speakerphone
Hello all,
I'm looking to troubleshoot some echo issues and possibly "studdering" while
using the speakerphone with the Intellitouch ITC3002. On the hardware end, i
have a 2621 setup as the router with some policy maps for qos, and a 2900XL
with cos priority set to 5. I have setup created 2 vlans currently (really
small office), 1 for corp/data, and 2 voice vlan. Asterisk is on

Mitel 5010
Does anyone know if this phone can or does work with Asterisk ? I have a
potential client who wants to throw away their current mitel ip system
(keeps crashing on a regular basis - not good for a phone-based company),
but are reluctant to purchase new handsets.
Thanks.
Julian.

Mitel 5010 +5220
I know this is not strictly an asterisk issue but it is related I guess.
Just to let you know that after many calls to Mitel the consensus is that
they will be releasing a new version of the 5220 that is dual boot (minet
and SIP) next week or the week after. This firmware will only appear on
NEW phones manufactured after the release date (no one could confirm but
the 23rd of sept was

PBX 'Personalities' ?
We are running our * server as a virtual PBX for 6 companies. I am having
all of the Allison prompts plus our own custom IVR prompts being re-recorded
for each company, in a different voice (marketing thing) with a different
personality (perky, corporate, earthy) .
I'm curious if someone could point out a dirty trick to get the voice to
play right, for internal and external callers,

Capturing DIALSTATUS on a PARTICULAR channel if multiple-dialling?
Using 1.0.9:
If I have:
exten => s,1,Dial(SIP/5555&SIP/12345@192.168.1.1)
How can I return the DIALSTATUS variable for the second SIP channel ONLY if
the second SIP channel is busy, regardless of the dialstatus of the first
SIP channel? What I want is, if the second SIP channel is busy go to n+1 or
n+101 regardless of the status of the first SIP channel.

New one on me: How to UN-transfer
I'm using a Snom 320 in a CAP position and the receptionist wants to do
blind transfers. OK, no problem so far. Now she has asked me how to
UN-transfer a call, as in, she transfers a call and wants to hook the call
back before it connects (she wanted to tell the caller additional
information for example)
I don't think that this is possible as once my dialplan starts using Dial()

simple tbf rate clamping issues
Hello,
I was attempting to throttle egress traffic to a specific rate using a
tbf. As a starting point I used an example from the LARTC howto, which
goes:
tc qdisc add dev eth1 root tbf rate 220kbit latency 50ms burst 1540
I then attempt a large fetch from another machine via wget (~40 megs)
and the rate was clamped down to about 12Kbytes/s. As this seemed too
much, I gradually increased

Something every TDMP user should know
> They instantly got us to look at the output of zttest and we found that
this was (in their words) 'extremely low', with 'best' and > 'worst'
readings of 99.975586% and 99.963379% respectively.
Might want to give PCI latency setting a try, it helped for me. My ZTTEST
would drop occasionally to 99.95% until I set:
setpci -v -s 01:01.0 latency_timer=ff

Best Grandstream firmware to use?
I've seen lots of stuff go around about Grandstream firmware levels (in my case specifically the BT101/102). I'm just wondering what the currently accepted 'best' firmware version is to use? After seeing stuff going around about buggy firmware I want to know what I'm getting into before upping past my current 1.0.5.11. It's relatively stable, and the last thing I want

[Bridge] Transparently bridge Vlans to eth0
Hi,
I'm using Vlans in my network as a way of preventing
pier to pier communication - I only want nodes in the
network to talk to the gateway (a linux box).
I have successfully set up lots of sub interfaces
using the vconfig too, one for each vlan. What I would
like to be able to do is remove the ip address from
each of these subinterfaces eth0.x and bridge them to
eth0. I have successfully

ot: vlans and vmware
Does anyone have VLAN tagging working from within a guest on vmware-server?
I'm running a centos 4.5 guest on a centos 5 host with vmware server
1.04and I've tried creating vlans using both the
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts
method and just doing it from the cli via vconfig. Either way appears to
work, the OS creates the vlans, but I think vmware's network adapter must be

Cisco 79XX and VLANS
Hey gang,
We have about 30 Cisco 79XX phones all running latest 7.5 SIP. We are
also using all Cisco Switches and Routers. Everything works great except
that when you reboot a phone it takes like 3-5 minutes for it to come up.
The phones spend tons of time 'Configuring VLAN..' We don't run any
VLANs. Is there some way to skip this?
In the 'Network Settings' I have

Bridging three vlans
OK, strange request but I want to bridge three vlans under linux 2.4.
Bridging works fine with two vlans, but is failing to route when I add
the third vlan.
Situation is clearly to have Lan, internet and DMZ vlans. The reason
they are vlans is that I am using a Linksys WRT54GS and hence you
effectively have a 5 port hub on the back which can be segregated into
flexible vlan groups. I

Bonds, VLANs, and Bridges on Centos 5.6
Running on Centos 5.6 with KVM...
I was wondering if anyone had any luck configuring the NICs where eth0 and eth1 are bonded together with vlan support to a bridge?
I noticed some threads show this as a possibility (http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos-virt/2009-November/001417.html), but haven't had any luck implementing it. There also seems to be a bug with 5.6

bonding + VLANs -> Oops/panic, no VLAN on 100 Mbit cards [SOLVED]
As the issue concerns both the -user (configuration) and -devel (OOPS),
I''m sending this message to both lists.
Some time ago I complained about two problems:
- VLANs are not working on machines with 100 Mbit cards
- I get a kernel Oops (sometimes panic) when I try to use bonding and
VLANs with Xen
The root of the issue is the same in both cases: VLAN interfaces must
